Shortly after my arrest, I moved away without ever dealing with the case and a warrant was issued for my arrest. Six years later I again contacted Mr. Chan to finally resolve my case since I could not get a driver’s license when I now live due to the warrant. Mr. Chan still had all of the documents demo my previous case and was wiling to help me. The District Attorney’s Office wanted me to plead guilty to the DUI and serve almost a year in jail because I have felony DUI convictions in another state. Mr. Chan refused to agree to that deal. He ended up getting the entire case dismissed against me and I was able to get my driver’s license back. I am so glad I hired him and highly recommend Richard Chan.

I retained Richard for a DUI and he was quick to call me back and take my money (1,750) after that he was a ghost I called his office and eventually his cell phone several times and not one call back. For my arraignment he never contacted me and when I showed up in court he had sent another lawyer who had no idea only to set my court day WAY in the future. He called me the day before court where to meet up, he went in did the work. He said he would follow up with a letter of what transpired and what I needed to do, it showed up about 30 days later. I the mean time I called him and his office several times for the letter and questions. Never a once a return call. Terrible service, unacceptable

He just represented a family member in a fraud case and was able to reduce the charges. His background as a prosecutor gives him invaluable insight. Richard Chan was concerned not only about the charges against this family member but the cause of the behavior. He tenaciously addressed the charges and the underlying behavior. His associate, Patricia Chapman, also provided tremendous support and effort in this matter. I am very thankful for the outcome in this case and highly recommend Richard Chan as a criminal lawyer.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
I endorse this lawyer. Richard is a true advocate for his clients, whether it be bankruptcy, criminal defense or an injury client. I have known him since he became a lawyer and can state unequivocally that I would hire him for any of the above reasons. He is a highly skilled and experienced trial lawyer that finds its roots in his years of prosecuting as an Assistant Deputy District Attorney (a truly sought after position for any trial attorney). He's smart, tough and honest and cares about his clients. Hire him, I know I would, should the need ever arise.
