About me

When I first decided to become a lawyer, I was intrigued by the many potential career paths a legal education provided: private practice, in-house counsel, judge, federal, state or local government, law school professor, business advisor, entrepreneur, etc. As it turns out, I've done all of the above at some point in the past 35 years. From an early stint as a "night magistrate" in Nashville, to a law professor in California and a private practice that developed clients across the country and around the world, I have seen and done a lot. However, my fundamental interests have not changed significantly. My focus has centered on application of the law to the subject of "wealth". Thus, whether resolving corporate or personal tax issues, forming business entities, assisting with private placements and IPOs or bringing companies from distant parts of the world into a harmonious and productive business relationship, my efforts have always related to the production, accumulation or protection of "wealth" or "capital". (Hence the name "Christensen Capital Law Corporation"). Thus, my primary areas of practice have been formation of business entities and advising such entities, federal and state securities laws, federal and state taxation, international business, estate planning and asset protection. My cumulative experience in these subject areas has resulted in an ability to understand and implement my clients' "big picture" rather than isolating a single task or issue. I find the challenge both stimulating and gratifying. I have no plans to retire--I enjoy the work and the client relationships far too much.
