Jim did Marital agreement for me. My husband and myself wanted to separate our assets so that our kids know exactly what was coming to them. We both have kids from previous marriages. He was amazing as a person and as attorney. He is nature lover and in addition to working out agreement we could shar...e hiking experiences. Jim did excellent job with very reasonable expense. He is highly recommended

Cannot recommend highly enough

My CFDA put me in touch with Jim after prior counsel (another firm) became unavailable. Jim completely changed the trajectory of my proceedings for the better, securing very favorable decisions on my behalf that resulted in significant monetary savings. Jim’s command of the law and his eloquent prese...ntation in front of judges and opposing lawyers is beyond impressive. A consummate professional with high EQ, he's the one you want on your side. I cannot recommend him highly enough or thank him for representing my case so well.

Five stars for straightforward and ethical lawyer

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Jim Hoover and his team. He's incredibly knowledgeable, citing the specific relevant statutes and giving no-nonsense and specific answers to questions, like "if you took that to court, you'd have a 75% chance of winning." My ex got a slightly more exp...ensive lawyer in the area and they were incompetent by comparison. They'd regularly screw up the forms they were supposed to file on their end. My lawyers at Hoover handled them perfectly. The other lawyer would get tangled up for hours on irrelevant details like whether we say our son will finish "grade school" vs. "high school," (seriously?) and they'd encourage her to make unreasonable requests and to never compromise. Maybe that's for you, but if you want a result that's fair and you want to do it efficiently, then I couldn't give a higher recommendation. A couple years later (last month) there was another flare up with my ex and of course Jim was right there for me. He predicted how the judge would react and was precisely correct. He then guided me through the process, helping me deescalate, and minimized how much I'd have to spend on legal fees. A+

Great Service

Jim was a great attorney to work with. He helped me reach a divorce agreement that was fair and reasonable. His professionalism, experience and "cool head" during negotiations are a combination that leads to results. He is a great listener and has a way of explaining things that a lay person can unde...rstand. In addition, he is cost conscious, trying to keep fees low by working efficiently.

Divorce with custody battle & DV complaint

I was recommended to Jim Hoover by a friend when my divorce somewhat unexpectedly turned bitter, including attempts by the other side to request full custody of our young daughter. It was a very difficult time, and required fast response from the team at Hoover/Krepelka. They prepared our initial... responses, including interviewing me and getting all of our forms in place within a couple weeks. This including some work on the weekend, in order to meet the initial hearing date. Jim and his team worked with me through the custody portion to resolve it in joint custody and split timeshare, despite delays caused by Covid and court shut-downs, as well as very good timeshare throughout to spend lots of time with my daughter. Jim was very proactive in including deadlines in the initial agreements, including the settlement of our home, which ultimately allowed my daughter and I to move back into the family home, which was very important to us. Also, I must say that the team was very efficient and practical in time spent and billing. Although they have a high hourly billing rate (rightfully so), I found them to be quite efficient in time spent. I know from experience that other law firms tend to send much higher billing hours which more than offset the rate, and that is important to consider. The divorce was very difficult and stressful, but Jim and the team got us ultimately what was important to us, kept mine and my daughter's relationship strong and the end result was the best we could hope for. I highly appreciate their support.
