I was arrested for a felony DV and criminal threats against my ex and mother of my kids. At the time I was trying to get full custody of my kids so my ex called the police and lied. The cop believed her because of my prior history. I went to court and the public defender didn't try to get my bail ...lower and instead tried to get me to plead to a strike and two years in prison. She said it was a good deal. I told her I was innocent and my ex was making it up and now she was changing her story but she didn't listen.
