My mother made a police report stating that i am pregnant and that my bf is 22 and i (her daughter) is 15. She didnt press charges however i am aware that the DA can press charges. The officer said that he cant be arrested until the baby is born. ...
Call a local attorney to deal with this immediately.
The DA will review all reports and evidence they have prior to making a charging determination.
Good luck.See question
I am on felony court probation and am cited and released for alleged petty theft what might happen? also can the court or DA take into consideration that i am both my severely disabled mother and my disabled gradmother and possibly no jail
The worst thing that could happen is you could be found in violation and sentenced to the maximum punishment on your felony case. You need and attorney to defend you and to present any and all mitigating circumstances to the court.
I appeared before the judge who was very happy to do it as I have never been in any trouble before or after that stupid incident. Also my crime was domestic violence but no weapons where involved.
This is a common question and not easy to answer because in CA a reduction to a misdemeanor makes the case a misdemeanor for all purposes. However, the federal government and ATF may treat the offense as a felony and still not allow you the right to possess firearms. With that said I have reduced felony cases for clients for the specific reason that they wanted to hunt or own firearms again. I have never had one come back to me and say that they had a problem afterwards.
Of course, that is not a guarantee that you could face problems with the federal government if you are caught with firearms.See question
