I am a Certified Family Law Legal Specialist.  I have also completed specialized training in mediation, specifically geared at family law.  

I have always enjoyed practicing family law and I have handled a wide variety of family law matters over the years in Alameda and Contra Costa.

In my mediation practice, I truly feel mediation can be an invaluable tool in helping clients reach final resolution in their matter.  We often say that we are dealing with some of the best people going through what is likely one of the worst times in their lives.  It can cause tension, anxiety, animosity, and feelings of inadequacy and unfairness.  Mediation can allow clients to recognize those feelings and see the other person's perspective.  It may not mean you will agree with their perspective, but hopefully by seeing it, you are better able to understand and let go of some of the feelings that have kept you from resolving your case amicably, rather than through litigation. 

In litigation, we often hear Judges say, "If both parties are leaving unhappy, then I've probably done my job correctly."  Or, some variation thereof.  Meaning, that often we see both sides taking polar sides from the other, when the reality is that the solution and/or the law, falls somewhere in the middle.  While we try to avoid these circumstances, sometimes parties just cannot reach an agreement and litigation becomes necessary.  I'll do everything I can to help you avoid those costs and the turmoil that can put your family through. However, if litigation is necessary, I am here for you. 

We are now offering Estate Planning as part of our practice.  I am not currently practicing in probate litigation.
