    Respondent suffered severe emotional abuse and cruelty at the hands of his US Citizen wife. Respondent was subsequently placed in deportation proceedings after his US citizen wife revoked her immigration sponsorship of him. Respondent came to our office for help. We successfully challenged his deportation by filing a VAWA application (Violence Against Women Act) with USCIS and applying in court for a green card on his behalf. Case was approved without appeal by ICE.

    Description:
    Mexican client and long time resident in the US with no legal status had been physically assaulted in her home by unknown assailants more than 5 years ago. Although she reported the attack to the police, the assailants were never caught. Client and her family continued to live in fear of the assailants and of removal and came to our office for help. We sought the assistance of the police in completing a U Visa certification on her behalf and applied for a U visa with USCIS for her and her family. Client's case was approved and she and her family received legal status as well as work permits. They are eligible to apply for green cards in 3 years.

    Client and her children were long time residents of US after EWI (entering without inspection). As Client had invested a substantial amount of working capital into the business, we successfully changed her status from an E-1 to an E-2 Treaty Investor based on the ongoing investments in her business. Client applied for the E-2 visa while vacationining in Europe. The visa was approved the same day.

    Client from Mexico had applied in pro se (on his own) for an I-601 waiver due to a prior overstay in the US. His application was denied due to a showing of a lack of extreme hardship. Client's family in the US came to us for help. We successfully compiled and submitted evidence to Ciudad Juarez of extreme hardship to his US citizen family members (wife and children), and LPR family members and client received a grant of his waiver and his immigrant visa was issued. Client is now back in the US with his family.

    B-2 overstay Client from Tonga living in the US with his wife and two US citizen children visited Tonga while his application for a green card was pending. He mistakenly believed he could leave the US without first consulting with an Attorney. When he tried to return to the US after his vacation, he was turned around at the airport by Customs and Border Officers and forced to return back to Tonga the same day. His US citizen family members were allowed to re-enter the US. Client 's family contacted our office for help. We successfully compiled large volumes of documents evidencing extreme hardship to his US citizen wife, children and his parents and submitted the same to the US consulate in Polynesia. Client's I-601 Waiver was approved and Client was allowed to reunite with his wife and children and return to the US.
