As a litigation attorney with 27 years' experience, I have noted with concern as access to the legal system has become so expensive that it can be beyond the reach of many who are entitled to redress for a variety of wrongs.
It's more important than ever for lawyers to be strategic and cost-conscious in representing clients, to achieve the best possible result at the most reasonable cost. This need is something I am acutely aware of at all stages of advising my clients. I offer a variety of fee options, including flat-fee contracts, and I work to educate my clients from the outset of the potential cost of handling their matters. I also believe strongly in mediating disputes whenever possible, both before and during litigation. I am certified as a mediator and give generously of my time as a volunteer mediator to community members.
I am a proud graduate of Monterey College of Law, which allowed me to work managing a law firm while I studied at night to attain my degree. Despite working full-time, I graduated in the top 10% of my class and was chosen as a finalist in the Heisler Moot Court competition, in which I was part of a team that argued a fictional constitutional law case before a panel of actual judges and an audience of hundreds. I passed the California Bar Exam immediately after graduation, then went to work with Belli & Sabih, a boutique personal injury law firm in Pacific Grove, CA. Partner Melvin M. Belli was arguably the best-known tort and trial lawyer in the United States, and I was privileged to try cases with his partner, David S. Sabih, and to accompany Mr. Belli to the World Court at The Hague, Netherlands, as well as to India and Tibet.
My clients are average people, individuals and small business owners, who find themselves in need of my services in cases involving family inheritances; real estate transactions; collection of monies owed to them; injuries sustained in automobile and other types of accidents; and landlord-tenant disputes. Many of my former clients remain my friends to this day, and I am honored that they refer their friends and family to me.
I am committed to excellent and prompt communication with my clients, and to giving 100% of my ability to resolving their cases in an effective and economical manner. I look forward to your inquiry regarding a potential legal matter or about my practice in general. Thank you for taking the time to read my comments.
