Bill Washam is a criminal defense attorney who lives and practices in the Central Valley. He specializes in DUI defense and is proud to work at Wapner Jones, PC, the Valley's best and most respected DUI defense firm. His body of work includes numerous trial victories and dismissals, and hundreds of satisfied clients.
Mr. Washam was born and raised in rural Kentucky. Law is his second career. For over a decade, he worked in Kentucky's public schools as a teacher of chemistry, physics, and astronomy. In 2009, he left teaching and enrolled in Indiana University's highly regarded Maurer School of Law. While at IU, he interned in prosecutors' offices in both Indiana and Kentucky, gaining experience in all areas of criminal law. Upon graduation, he moved to the Fresno area and worked for a time in public defense, representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony cases, and enjoying many trial successes.
Now in private practice, Mr. Washam draws upon his background in the sciences to defend those charged with DUI. He is one of the few attorneys in California to have received training in forensic chromatography, the method used to identify and measure substances in blood samples. He is also an active member of both the American Chemical Society's "Chemistry and the Law" section and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, professional organizations dedicated to the advancement of science-based DUI defenses. Mr. Washam attributes much of his success in DUI cases to learning and mastering these defenses.
Mr. Washam takes a personal interest in each of his clients and approaches each representation with the goal of delivering the best possible result. He offers free consultations and would welcome the opportunity to address your questions and concerns about DUI or other criminal charges.
