Prior to becoming an attorney, Dan Epperly served over twenty years in Law Enforcement, the Fire Service, and EMS. For most of his career, Dan was a Deputy Sheriff with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, earning numerous community awards including being named the 1998 “Rookie of the Year” by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as being honored by the Fresno Deputy Sheriff’s Association for “Outstanding Service.” Dan loved his public safety career, but, sadly due to a work injury, he was forced to retire from the Sheriff’s Office.
Dan graduated from San Joaquin College of Law earning a Juris Doctorate with Distinction. His first attorney job was defending employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation cases. Dan knows first-hand how unfairly some claims adjusters and defense attorneys treat injured workers. Dan actually hated that job; feeling it wrong to cheat people out of benefits rather than helping them.
Dan now represents injured workers and their families. He primarily represents Public Safety personnel but he also represents civilian workers, especially those with prior military service.
If you are a Public Safety Officer (Police/Fire/Corrections, etc.) you need an attorney who thoroughly understands all of the Safety Officer presumptions, the demands of the job, and the interplay of Work Comp, Disability Retirements, and the Fair Employment and Housing Act. Dan is truly honored to represent Firefighters, Peace Officers, and their Survivors state-wide before the California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. He will always help those who protect and serve.
