About me

Darin L. Powell

Managing partner

Visalia, California

While I was not born in California, I have spent the majority of my life here in the Central Valley. Both my father and mother and their respective families are from Tulare County, and I was raised in Woodlake. After graduating from Woodlake High School, I went to College of Sequoias where I played football and was on the track team. Thereafter, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After being Honorably Discharged, I returned to College of Sequoias before transferring to Fresno State University where I studied physiology and anatomy. After graduating from Fresno State University, I applied and was accepted to San Joaquin College of Law, from which I graduated in 2002 with the degree of Juris Doctor.
I have worked in the field of workers’ compensation since my first year of law school; working as a law clerk in the morning and afternoon while going to law school at night. It is a field of law that puts me in touch with people from all walks of life, from bank vice presidents to farm laborers. My undergraduate degree has helped me immensely, as any workers’ compensation case will deal with injury or disease of the human body.

Our office continually strives to obtain optimal results for our clients, no matter what type of problem we face.
Dealing with the effects of injury and illness daily and dealing with laws that are constantly changing can create a stressful situation. My wife, Jennifer, and children, McKayla, Abigail, and Tucker, have always been the rock that sustains me. Furthermore, my support staff, i.e. Sharon Lopez, Olga Marquez, Lupe Hernandez, Tammie Grijalva, and Rhyanne Rochin, make the daily problems much easier to handle.
In an effort to keep the work and issues that arise daily from becoming overwhelming, I am an avid hunter, fisher, and outdoorsman. In addition to being a collector of landscape paintings, I am a writer and a painter.
