When I got arrested for a DUI with a high rate of speed in Ventura county I thought I was screwed. The potential penalty that I was facing was 60 days in Ventura County Jail on top of all the other fines and fees (even though it was my first DUI). I ended up hiring Jasen Nielsen to help me out and I am very glad that I did. He didn't make a bunch of false promises to me saying that we could get me off completely free and clear, but he told me that we would be able to help me take accountability for what had happened in the best possible way. He did exactly that! Every step of the way Mr. Nielsen kept me informed about what was going on with my case and what needed to be done. He was always available if I had any questions and he made my whole situation SO MUCH EASIER to handle. I was able to get my restricted license for work very quickly and Mr. Nielsen attended all of my court dates for me, saving me time, gas money and headaches. At the end of the day, they somehow missed charging me with anything related to the excessive speed and I was charged with a first time DUI! On top of that, Jasen was able to get me Credit Time Served for the 48 hours that I was supposed to serve resulting in NO JAIL TIME for me!! I was blown away by how well Attorney Jasen Nielsen handled everything and would recommend him 100% to anyone else that finds themselves in the unfortunate position of having to deal with a DUI.

Recently, I had just got a hit and run and a DUI about a half block away from my house. I decided to use Jasen as my lawyer for this terrible incident; I couldnt have picked a better guy for the job. Jasen was always there to talk and answer all of my questions and make me feel more at ease about the whole overall situation. He would go to court for me so I didnt have to feel the nervousness of sitting in that room and waiting. After the court papers had been given to him, he gave me all the condensed information typed up in a step by step process on what I would have to do next. I would Highly recommend Jasen to anyone put in a bad situation such as mine. He was able to get the hit and run dismissed and no jail time and just a few alcohol classes. Without him, I would have been completely stressed the entire time and I'm sure I would've misinterpreted quite a bit of the paperwork and wouldn't have had the hit and run dropped. I'm forever thankful to have had someone like Jasen watching my back and helping me through this terrible time.

My Son was out having a good time with his friends when he had to answer the call of nature. This resulted in him getting a citation, which seemed a little heavy handed for a student with his whole career and life before him. As he was ashamed of his actions, he did not let me know of this until the court date was very close.
This meant I had to move quickly to find out what our options were, and I began to call lawyers offices to speak with someone. I left messages with receptionists and voice mails and was not called back as I was promised. I did manage to speak to two lawyers but neither of them offered any real plan or ideas that would offer some hope of a good result.
Then I called Jasen who answered my call personally and immediately. He allowed me to relate our position without interrupting, and asked specific questions to get the full picture. Right away he put my mind at ease on a couple of my concerns and he told me what his plan of action would be. I knew right away that Jason was a person who enjoyed his work, and was well versed in his profession.
Every time I called Jasen he was there, this may not always be the case , but it was for me.
Jasen prevented me from rushing my son into court, and making a big mistake. He was able to get us the best possible result, and I am very grateful that my son's good record is preserved.
I highly recommend Jason, who makes his profession look good, and is genuinely interested in helping, and treats you as an equal.

I'm in "the legal business" but in another state and needed help for a relative. I specifically wanted an ex-prosecutor with a good reputation. I spent a lot of time talking with him and he knows what he's doing, plain and simple.

I made the worst decision of my life the night I got my DUI, but I made a great decision when I hired Jasen Nielsen as my attorney. Jasen won a better outcome for me than I anticipated. He was especially helpful by being able to file my court papers and represent me in Santa Barbara County, 300 miles from my home.
After reviewing my case and considering the options, Jasen let me know the best and worst scenarios, provided advise as to what I could do to benefit my situation, and then went to bat for me. Granted, I had a blood alcohol level over 0.20 and wasn't likely to be let off the DUI charge, but his counsel and representation eliminated the threat of additional jail time, community service, house arrest and extraordinary fines. I would not have been able to accomplish the swift and beneficial completion of my case without his efforts. I also look forward to maintaining contact with him to expunge my record.
I found Jasen to be easy to talk with and never felt like an outlaw or cast-off, my confidentiality was maintained, and he took caution to postpone a hearing to my benefit when recognized that the DA in court had a less than favorable record against DUI offenders.
Not that I ever want to be in the position again to need an attorney following a DUI, but I would highly recommend Jasen as an effective advocate for your rights
