Fred is an excellent attorney, with legal negotiation brilliance, and, courtroom charisma. Bottom line is he knows the law, and his strategy, and, negotiating skills are spot on. While needless to say, the legal process was very stressful, Fred's confidence, legal brilliance, and ability to get things done relieved the stress early on. Had two wrongfully accused felonies filed against me. One was dropped, the other reduced to a misdemeanor, with no jail time or probation. If you need legal representation, I highly recommend Fred Thiagarajah.

He is great! I was paranoid about a possible legal situation I got myself into and wanted to consult. He told me it was to soon to know the extent of what I would be liable for but based on my description he recommended I don't need an attorney yet but should I hear otherwise or if the detectives wanted to talk again he would be of service. Would use him again in a heartbeat should anything come up in the future, he responded quick and was warm and direct and professional all in one email.

Fred is an outstanding attorney. He will have your back in any situation. In the military, were always busy and on a tight schedule and Fred went to court for me. Highly recommend him. Five stars all the way.

Fred is an amazing attorney and his services are worth every penny. I was in a panic looking for an attorney when I stopped by Avvo and found Fred's name. I checked out his firm on Yelp and the reviews were glowing in both places. I was completely consumed in fear that my case wouldn't go well but, after speaking with Fred, I felt confident that things might go well.
I first had a phone consult with him, then I met with him in his office just to make sure all questions were answered from my end. He was very receptive to any questions I asked and he always answered any question I had with detail and confidence (as if he's defended a million times). He also asked questions about my case and was very detailed about his plan of action.
Sometimes Fred himself was hard to get a hold of but I realize that is because he has a lot of cases to handle (and mine was actually pretty light compared to other cases). His assistants are the ones to go through because they always get your questions/concerns to Fred and respond back in a timely manner.
Fred and his firm wound up talking to the DA's office and found the charges were rejected! I didn't even need to show up to court that day (even though I did just in case).
Fred and his firm were and are a blessing to me and my family. I will always be grateful that he helped me through this mess and I refer him with complete confidence. 10/10!

I called Mr. Thaigarajah's office to discuss my brother's case and get a second opinion as I had lost trust with my brother's current attorney. I felt my brother's attorney was not doing enough for him. Mr. Thaigarajah was not only helpful, but brought me the peace of mind I needed to accept my brother's outcome. My first impression was that Mr. Thaigarajah was a fighter and would defend to his best abilities. I wanted to hire Mr. Thaigarajah to represent my brother wholeheartedly, but he was honest and told me it would not change the outcome as my brother's case was too far along. My only regret is that I did not find him in the beginning of my brother's case as I am confident that my brother's outcome would have been much better with his representation. He did not charge me any fees for the conversations we had even though he knew our options were limited, but he listened (several times) and called when he said he would (every time). I HIGHLY recommend anyone in trouble to hire Mr. Thaigarajah as he was extremely knowledgeable in the law and thorough when reviewing the facts to build a strong defense case. Thank you Mr. Thaigarajah for your compassion and listening to me. It is something I will be forever grateful for...

A superb score of 10 out of 10 follows the name of Fred Thiagarajah, and rightfully so. His impressive list of awards, endorsements, and affiliations, all merited by his faultless caliber, speak for themselves. But I am writing to speak for myself about my experience with Mr Thiagarajah. I am not proud to say that I've had my share of experiences with the Criminal Justice system; therefore, I am no stranger to the feelings of fear, anxiety, and despair that accompany a criminal indictment, nor the daunting court proceedings that follow. Likewise, I am familiar with the uncertainty that comes with searching for and hiring a competent and trustworthy attorney. Since court jargon and protocols are often confusing and intimidating to the layperson, it is hard to know if the attorney you’ve hired can be trusted to handle your livelihood and reputation with the utmost care. This was, of course, my concern as I faced drug charges along with the destruction of evidence. I was on parole and staying at a nearby hotel when the local police obtained the room key from the front desk and proceeded to let themselves into my room without knocking or announcing their presence. They seized my phone and my laptop, and I was arrested for minor drug possession charges and obstruction of justice/destruction of evidence. I was told that my property was being held for evidence “pending further investigation into my criminal activities” and that I should be expecting additional criminal charges when the investigation is complete. The crimes and charges I was facing were by no means extreme; but for someone on probation or parole, a simple misdemeanor can quickly snowball into something catastrophic.
I futilely fought the case alone for months, before contacting Fred Thiagarajah. I had previously met Fred when he represented my ex in a felony DUI/evading police case. I was very impressed with the results of that case (NO JAIL TIME), and so, I wanted him to represent me. In just a few court appearances Mr. Thiagarajah worked his magic by negotiating a miraculous deal with the DA, and he got them to release my property to me immediately, which I could not make happen for the life of me! However, the most impressive thing he did, in my opinion, I did not discover until a few years later. I was recently viewing my criminal records... and trust me, digging through my past is dirty business. ..So, as I began to assess the damage I’ve done to myself and what it would take to put my life back together… I noticed that I could not find any record of that case he handled. It just wasn’t there! I am not sure exactly what he did, but it is as if it never even happened. Now THAT is how you can discern a GOOD LAWYER!
Even though I already had a criminal history and my record was already tarnished, Fred handled my case as if it was not. Another charge may not have a made any difference any in the scheme of my years… Even though some would argue that it would not have even mattered. It mattered to him ….and it matters to me.
Thanks again Mr. Thriagarajah
Blessed Be )O(

This is my second review for Fred Thiagarajah. Due to very unfortunate circumstances, I was in legal trouble again. Just like the first time, I got caught up in a bad situation by dating the wrong type of girl. I have a soft spot for bad girls, what can I say.
Anyhow, when the cops showed up the first person I ran to was of course, Fred. Why? Because he was the only one who didn't bull $hi# with me with scare tactics and stick me with a huge bill. Who care if he is nice and honest though, if he is no good?
He is good folks. Really good. He was on the other side as a DA in So Cal for a long time before going private l, which means he knows exactly how the system works, how the prosecutors think, and what motivates them. But how do I really know he's good? Cuz the Judge said so.
Huh? What? Yes that's right folks, the JUDGE, yes the JUDGE said: "I rarely see an attorney who knows how to conduct a preliminary examination well or even properly. That was some fine lawyerin'!" Can you believe that? I never heard of a judge complementing an attorney like that in front of everyone. Of course Fred was like "pshhh~ ain't a thang.”
(Just kidding about the last part, he acted very modestly and appropriately.)
So what were the results for the last honest AND talented lawyer left? Well if you read my first review you would know I was acquitted of all charges the first time. This time, I have to do some community service and such but no jail and no permanent or harsh penalties. I could have fought, and I actually wanted to out of principle.. I mean I was the victim for heaven-sake!
I had a video clearly showing I was the one attacked by a person who kicked my front door down and all I did was defend myself. But I’ve learned that with the police and DA, once you are in the system, all they care about is punishing you as much as possible to build a "tough on crime" image... It really was all about politics. After all, we asked them to review the video over half a dozen times but till the very end, I doubt they even took a look at it once. Anyone who saw the video would know what the truth was.
Anyhow, Fred said I had a strong case and he was 90% confident we would win, but he also warned me that there were no guarantees in a trial and that if I didn’t win, it would be very painful, expensive, and damaging. I'm sure most lawyers would have tried to push for the trial to get more money. In the end, for what I was offered, trial was just too risky and expensive, and even Fred said it was a no-brainer so I took the bargain. Our system really needs to change. There must be so many innocent people in jail is what I’ve learned.
Back to Mr. Thiagarajah, not only did he push to save me money at his expense, but he also suggested I release him and take care of the probation reporting and such myself since all I really had to do was show up and it would be a waste to spend $500 just to have him come along. Can you believe this guy? How does he make money?
So there you have it folks. Fred Thiagaraja! Not everyone desires a fine, honest, and affordable defense attorney when they are in trouble. But if you aren't swimming in cash, have a fetish for jail, or like playing mind games, then go with Fred. It’s a no brainer!
Oh and BTW his assistant Gay is super nice and compassionate. I couldn't forget to include a shootout for her as well. Thanks Gay and Fred, you guys are awesome! But I hope I never "have" to see you again! ;)

I had a few criminal convictions in the past spanning a 20-year time frame. I consulted and hired Fred Thiagarajah & Associates to expunge/dismiss these prior convictions. Fred and staff ultimately was successful on these convictions. I would highly recommend this firm for anyone seeking an expungement/dismissal.

He basically did nothing for my DUI. Officer lied about damage on my car, saying I crashed it while being pulled over. NOPE! I had evidence from Allstate showing that damage was from years prior. Fred said "oh well, nothing we can do." I got the standard classes and fine so he did nothing there. Now he wants $750 for a public record expunge when it only costs $120 to file it myself. It's literally a piece of paper. I said I was broke but his associate didn't care. ON TO THE NEXT CLIENT TO SCAM.
