I have been represented by Scott Karlin for over 15 years, the representation has been excellent. In turn I have recommended Scott to Clients of mine who have had excellent experience with him. As an example earlier this year, a client of mine was in the process of purchasing a discounted Note from... a Bank and at the same time was going to acquire the real estate in the deal.
The Attorney who was representing my Client was very not responsive to the time sensitive nature of the Note Purchase, and the real estate transaction. I recommended Scott Karlin, and we met with Scott, discussed the deal and my Client engaged Scott to represent him in the transaction. Scott did an excellent job of getting up to speed on the deal, and assisting in the negotiation of the loan documents for my Client. We closed the deal in my opinion due tot the fact that we had Scott Karlin on board to represent my Client the Buyer in the deal. From the time of Scotts involvement we closed in just a few weeks, and were on schedule, if we had not closed the entire deal would have blown up.
The transaction had a host of moving parts, the Bank who was selling the Note, and had a back up buyer for the Note. The Owner of the Real Estate who had his own issues, with losing the property and what he needed to stay out of a Chapter proceeding. And a Bridge Lender who was willing to put up a lot of money to complete the deal with partial Reconveyance’s for the sale of units. This was a nice complex transaction which needed a good Attorney; Scott did an excellent job of helping put everything together and help hold it together to get the deal closed.
