About me

My practice is focused on helping children and families. Whether it is an adoption, guardianship, conservatorship, custody, visitation, education or other matter, I can offer a calm, sensible and reassuring voice to families in crisis. I am an experienced attorney, having handled a wide variety of cases throughout California.  (Please see the Cases section on my Profile page.)

Prior to starting my practice, I was the Interim Pro Bono Director and Lead Attorney for the Public Law Center (PLC); a Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County; an attorney for the San Jose City Attorney's Office; and a Staff Attorney at Legal Advocates for Children & Youth (LACY), a program of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley. I was also an Instructor for the California State University Fullerton Nonprofit Management program. In those capacities, I handled many different types of cases, provided supervision and technical assistance to new attorneys, and taught numerous community classes.

I graduated from UC Berkeley (with Bachelors degrees in Social Welfare and Economics) and UC Hastings College of Law. I also speak Vietnamese and serve on the Board of Directors of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California (VABASC). I volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children and as a pro bono attorney for PLC.
