Utterly incompetent

I found her through a link on the Hemit courthouse website. She talked a great fight on our phone consultation. But that was as far as her abilities stretched. I literally lost my children because she was too incompetent to know I had four months to contest the court order from their mother. Furt...hermore she didn't even know about filing a move away order to challenge the legality of my children being taken out of state. Both these glaring oversights cost me the time I had on my side in winning custody of my children. Subsequently a competent lawyer did file a move away challenge, and ultimately the judge in the courtroom informed me about the four month deadline to challenge the original order. By the time I got to court the passage of time had rendered both these avenues mute. When I hired Filimon, there was enough time to make both these approaches valid, she just didn't know what on earth she was doing. It's particularly galling because my instincts prompted me to question her repeatedly about just these approaches, but I'm Not a lawyer, when she repeatedly told me there were no options available to me I trusted her, although eventually my gut told me to go elsewhere, I did, but too late. Filimon' utter incompetence lost me every chance I had. To add salt to the wound , she actually billed me, using up my retainer for all the personal stories about her life I endured on my three visits with her. One visit was 90 mins long, I got about 15 mins of legal advice and the rest was stories about her home country, how much she liked Simon Cowell, things that happened to her at law school, stories about her parents, the list goes on. I never dreamed she would have the nerve to take money from my retainer for this. But once I had despenced of her services, I finally got my one and only bill / account summary, I saw she had. I don't believe this woman should be allowed to continue practicing law, and hope my experience can at least inform someone else so as not to make the devastating mistake I did by hiring her.

The public court records of your case indicate a restraining order for domestic violence against you and as a consequence, the other side was given full custody of the children, fact that happened PRIOR to you hiring my offices. I did discuss with you and looked for avenues to challenge the move away, however you have not supplied me with any evidence that would have allowed me to further your case. I don't believe the judge told you of the four month challenge because there is a six month challenge and when you left this office and hired new counsel you still had 2 more months to challenge move away. Responsibility of what happened lies with you and your actions.

Do not hire

She knew of my court 3 weeks in advance. She did no preparation, wouldn't work with me. On the day of court she showed up to the wrong court house, then quit before we walked in!!! She literally quit right before I saw the judge!! Ruined everything for me!!! Do not hire!!!
