Mr. Bailey Has Zero integrity Hurt my case by withdrawing himself and did so without notice to me!
I made the very bad mistake of hiring Mr. Bailey. I have a small business with three cases going on. He completely failed to respond to one of my cases ( Case # 1 where I am defendant) whereby I received a motion from the court notifying me I am in default. When I contacted Mr. Bailey about this case... he didn’t even have the case number. Oh but he received my money and signed on as my representation.
He has failed me in so many ways.
Case number 2 where I am the Plaintiff he, without saying anything to me, files a motion to dismiss himself from the case. When I asked ‘why in the hell would he do this’? Mr. Bailey outright says to me “ you’re out of money” He had received thousands of dollars from me and what I had informed Mr. Bailey was “ yes I’m concerned I am spending a lot of money and want to know where this is going and how much more this will cost me” Mr. Bailey just decided “ I was out of money”. Mr. Bailey has not at any time discussed any of my ongoing cases with me. He hasn’t discussed what if any plan of action will be taking. In fact his favorite saying is “ sometimes we tell them to go pound sand” whatever this means?!!
When I met him for the first time in person ( I hired him over the phone, bad mistake) I discovered he does not have his own practice but shares an office with multiple different businesses and rented the conference room to speak to me. When I asked him about why I had a sudden high invoice - he wasn’t able to tell me what the the costs or what his fees were.
He stated “ I should have brought my laptop I can’t see the invoices on my phone”. He kept Tapping his phone for 10 minutes trying to figure out what his fees were on my invoice. ... I then realized he didn’t even have an office in this shared building or he would have been able to retrieve his laptop or direct us to his office where he would have a computer.
It’s fine if you work from home but when you appear disorganized and do not have a place where you can sit down and meet with your client -except in a large rented conference room, it just seems inappropriate to me. And disorganized to say the least. as a laptop or desk top computer should be available. Case #3- I am a defendant for a shakedown lawsuit, small businesses are big targets for these kind of lawsuits. The plaintiff wants a mediation. You would think Mr. Bailey would inform me of the very large fees this mediation will cost me ‘PRIOR’ to me agreeing to mediation. No, he did not in fact inform me, he never stated at any time that there were fees between 5-10 k just to step foot into a room with a mediator.
He then informed me that the mediation would be used to the plaintiffs benefit. Yes to their benefit! .. and would require me to provide all of my information confidential business information to plaintiffs attorney so that attorney could see “ how big of a case he has against me” and Bailey continues to state “ he’s going to try to get even more money than his original ask” . At no time has Bailey proven to be any kind of support to me. He hasn’t discussed a plan with any of the three cases he was hired for. And then outright Hurts my case by FILING to RELIEVE himself from my lawsuit ( where I am the Plaintiff) because he outright states to me “ youR out of money” . So if you are in the market for an attorney who I believe is untrustworthy, fails to be any support of any kind to you or your small business, and you want the absolute minimum work done on your case or cases …or ruin your chances of winning your case…and then Runs if your getting low on funds, then by all means, hire Mr. Bailey.
He claims to be knowledgeable “Knows the law” And he’s a “ highly experienced attorney” but in my opinion he is greatly lacking in integrity & humanity. And he’s been fully paid. unfortunately, I made a bad choice. I hope you don’t.
