About me

I am an experienced business litigation and bankruptcy  attorney whose practice focuses on matters involving real estate issues. I primarily represent commercial landlords and property managers, lenders, and construction contractors and subcontractors in state, federal and bankruptcy court litigation, including appeals. My experience includes assisting clients with the following types of matters:

 ■ Prosecuting breach of lease actions;

 ■  Defending property owners against facility-based claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act;

 ■  Disputes over operating agreements, reciprocal easements, CC&R's, and common area maintenance obligations or charges;

 ■  Actions involving claims for quiet title, cancellation of instruments, or related remedies;

 ■  Enforcing deeds of trust, including judicial and non-judicial foreclosure proceedings and receiverships;

 ■  Prosecuting actions for breach of guaranty, including obtaining prejudgment remedies such as writs of attachment;

 ■  Representing insured lenders and owners in title insurance coverage disputes;

 ■  Bankruptcy litigation, including prosecuting relief from stay motions, contesting chapter 11 and chapter 13 plan confirmation, and adversary proceeding litigation, including nondischargeability, preference, and fraudulent conveyance claims; and

 ■  Construction payment disputes, including disputes over mechanic's liens, stop notices, and payment and performance bonds.

I am also a mediator currently serving on the panel of mediators for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
