We hired Randy 21 years ago and he met a birth mom shortly after hiring him after 10 years of infertility. We completed everything with Randy by August of 1995 and met a birth mom in October of 1995. Our son was born on Christmas Day of 1995. During this time we took Randy's advice and mailed out our Adoption Resume to places such as Hospitals, Churches, Doctors and even Beauty Salons. I think I mailed out about 300 of them wanting to be a mom so bad. Well after our son was 2 we received a phone call from another potential birth mom out of the blue on New Years Eve she found us from her doctors office from the resume Randy advised us to send out. We weren't planning on adopting another. But to my surprise our daughter was born a week later the day after my mom passing. She was such a blessing and today still is she is now 19 years old today. We used Randy one other time and now the shoe was on the other foot my niece was a birth mom and needed help placing her baby up for adoption Randy was wonderful in helping her place her baby for adoption under circumstances. Her little girl is now 10 and I keep in contact with the parents whom adopted her. This is a special story and I know for Randy its a story I am he doesn't see much like mine. But Randy Hicks was a true blessing to mine and my husband with out him we would of never become parents and achieving our family. Now my son is 21 still keeps in touch with his biological grandmother, My daughter is 19 we see her birth mom once a year she came to her high school graduation and party. My nieces little girls parents send me pictures and letters. This man Randy Hicks is one amazing adoption lawyer. Thank you Randy.

I cannot say enough good things about Randy and his services. When my daughter stated she wanted her stepdad to adopt her at age 17, we knew we did not have any time to waste if we wanted to do it before her 18th birthday. We researched doing it on our own, but we wanted to make sure not to overlook anything. My husband being active military, we are Texas residents living in California. My daughter's father also lived out of state, and we thought it might be a challenge, since we had not physically seen him in several years. We actually called a different firm initially, but after many unreturned phone calls and a no-show on a confirmed phone appointment, we became a little discouraged. Eventually, we stumbled upon Randy's website. We filled out the questionnaire and he literally called us the next morning (which happened to be Saturday, by the way).
Randy is a wealth of knowledge. He gave us options and a great price for services. He offered a flat fee well within reason. Aside from being professional, reliable and quick to respond, he is warm and personable. From the time we set things in motion, two and a half months later, we were at the courthouse. If you are unsure where to turn for adoption services. Look no further. Randy is the best.

My wife and I used the service of Mr. Randall Hicks for the adoption of my adult daughter, who was out of the country during the entire process. We started in December 2014 and successfully completed the adoption by February 2015.
Mr. Hicks was very competent in the matter of adoption; he was fast, efficient and reasonable with his fees (we did shop around).
We have no hesitation to recommend Mr. Hicks services to anybody with adoption concerns.

We are currently in the finalization period of adopting our son, but Randy has been with us on this journey for the past few years. In the beginning stages, he was clear and direct with the adoption information and advice we needed. When we had been waiting for awhile for a birth mother to pick us, he even came up with some outside solutions to finding a birth mother on our own. Once we did find a birth mom, Randy was the first person that we and the birth mom called and he was extremely helpful in getting her in contact with an attorney in her state. Our birth mom was impressed with the help Randy gave directly to her. We hope to be finalized in a few months but we would definitely give anyone Randy's name if they need an adoption attorney and if we choose to do this again, we will for sure be calling him back.

We first tried to adopt through a well-regarded adoption agency, but, other than the valuable counseling, found their process expensive and quite disappointing. Then we decided to try the private attorney route, and discovered Randall Hicks. Before we chose to proceed, he provided a frank evaluation of our strengths and weaknesses in terms of being chosen by a birth mother for placement. His rates were reasonable and transparent. The feedback he gave to us on our profile was quite valuable. Importantly, he always seemed honest, straightforward, and knowledgable. We were ultimately successful in adopting a newborn. There were some bumps along the road to adoption, including the baby unexpectedly developing a serious medical issue. However, Randy's legal advice allowed us to feel that we understood all of the options and help available.
Would I still rate Randall Hicks so highly if we had not been successful in our adopting our child? Yes, I think we would. He delivered the services we paid for in a professional manner. As ours is an open adoption where we are in frequent contact with the birth mother, I do know that she does not regret turning to Randall Hicks for help either.

My husband and I worked with Randy on two private adoptions upon the recommendation of two other families who had worked with him. We particularly like that he takes care to make sure that the potential birthmothers are really ready to make the decision to give up a child for adoption, that their decision is not hasty or uninformed or under pressure. He also did not pressure us to choose him, but spoke well of one of the agencies we were also considering.
During our second adoption, we had more questions about how to interact with and help support the birthmother, as the situation was somewhat more complicated the second time around, and he gave good advice that helped guide us.
He is experienced, knowledgeable, easy to work with, and trustworthy.

We interviewed several adoption attorneys before selecting Randy Hicks. We decided to work with Randy due to his many years of experience in California adoptions, his contacts in the Southern California community, his conservative approach to the adoption process, and the clear and direct information and advice he provided in our initial visit. We also valued his transparent payment structure, his ability to communicate with us, and his process to only work with a limited number of adoptive couples at one time. Ultimately we located our birth mother through an agency, but Randy helped us with all the legal paperwork associated with the adoption. Randy was always responsive when possible birth mother situations arose (either brought to us by Randy or through other parties that we brought to him) to answer our questions and provide advice. He worked in partnership with our agency social workers to quickly and efficiently process initial and final adoption paperwork, and we never needed to chase or push the process along. We never had to worry about the legal details having Randy taking care of that aspect of the process. This allowed us to focus on our daughter and really enjoy our new blessing. We would highly recommend Randy to others for adoption needs as he is very professional, straightforward, and effective while showing the utmost respect for all of the involved parties.

Randall Hicks did a stepparent adoption for us. He did an excellent job and did it fast. Very fair pricing. And when we went to court for the final hearing, it was obvious the judge knew and liked him a lot, which made us feel very confident.
