    From the policyholder's perspective, the lower the policy limits are, the more likely it is that early disclosure to the other party will be a sound strategy. And generally speaking, early disclosure of limits is more likely to generate early settlement opportunities. It is also true that if the limits are not voluntarily disclosed, the other party may file a lawsuit so that they can serve discovery to force disclosure of the limits.
