About me

Kimberly  Carasso is an experienced civil litigator who counsels and represents clients in all facets of litigation. She has an extensive range of experience including: business, employment, professional liability, catastrophic personal injury, real estate and other types of complex litigation. For the past two years, the vast majority of Ms. Carasso's practice has involved advocating and seeking justice for those catastrophically injured as a result of medical malpractice.

She is admitted to practice in California and in  the Northern, Central Southern Districts of the United States District Court of California.  Ms. Carasso has a long-standing history as a member of the Orange County Bar Association and numerous professional organizations, including the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. She has the highest peer-review status, based on legal abilities and ethical standards, issued by Martindale.

OC Metro Magazine named Ms. Carasso a "Mover and Shaker Under 40".  Also, Super Lawyers named her a "Rising Star", a prestigious distinction given to only 2.5% of the state's attorneys. Since that time, Super Lawyers Magazine has repeatedly named her as one of California's Super Lawyers and one of the Top Women Attorneys in Southern California.

Ms. Carasso is highly experienced and skilled at investigation, organization, development of trial strategy, case evaluation and negotiation.  Recent medical malpractice settlements include a $4,400,000.00 settlement on behalf of a young man left with significant cognitive and motor defects as a result of a failure to properly monitor and treat a cerebral aneurysm and a seven-figure settlement for an elderly man left in a persistent vegetative state due to negligence following thyroid surgery.  She co-chaired a defense verdict in a multi-million dollar products liability action tried in Mammoth Lakes, California.  Moreover, she recently co-chaired a trial in Orange County, California obtaining a verdict for her clients in a long-standing and acrimonious dispute between two homeowner’s associations. In addition, she obtained a $1,300,000.00 judgment for a client in case involving failure to pay overtime and wrongful termination in violation of public policy.

Ms. Carasso enjoys public speaking and has been a featured speaker for several organizations, including the Association of Corporate Counsel. In 2005, the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership organization elected Ms. Carasso (then Maynard)  to a two-year term as a Board of Trustee and appointed her as its General Counsel.  She served as a HOBY Board of Governor until 2015.

Ms. Carasso received her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1996 where she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence Advocacy and she was a member of the Dean’s List. In 1993, she received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science, with Programs of Concentration in Scientific Perspectives and Japanese Studies from University of California–San Diego.
