Can't say enough good about Ken. When my landlord served me with an eviction notice, I found Ken by searching on the Internet. His website, Caltenantlaw, has good advice and the ability to schedule a consultation. Ken saved me from making a number of big mistakes, leading to a settlement that was acceptable to both parties. Thanks again, Ken

Ken is amazing!!! His knowledge is invaluable. It really feels good to know someone has your back when you are going through an eviction case. Landlords and their lawyers try to take advantage of you, but with Ken in your corner, they won't be able to. I don't know what I would have done without him. I won my case against a terrible, mean evil and unscrupulous landlord. Without kens wealth of knowledge and experience they would have ran all over me. i would recommend him again and again and again....

I am not surprised Mr. Carlson has had some type of disciplinary ding on his record. He is straightforward and tells things like they are. Sometimes people just cannot handle the truth, especially when it comes to landlords wanting to keep the tenants in this country ignorant and subservient.
Ken is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and offers a plethora of great information on his website. I have been working with several attorneys dealing with a lawsuit in San Diego. None of them hold a candle to Ken. I wish he had been in San Diego when I went to court.
I could not recommend this man highly enough.

I was a tenant about to be 'wrongfully evicted' due to the homeowner's foreclosure I learned about at the last minute. I was told by a few lawyers that all of my rights were being violated. Things with Mr. Carlson started out great, he seemed very knowledgeable with just enough compassion to get through to someone facing the possible disaster me and my family was. He was extremely confident to the point of bragging, and even put down the other party's attorney for being a "wind bag" that talks a great game but never delivers. Halfway into my case things had gotten worse and NOTHING he suggested and did helped. After yet another hearing, in which everything Mr. Carlson insisted would work to my advantage, completely failed, I brought this fact to his attention. Since I was down to one or two more chances to prevent a complete disaster even PARTIALLY, I questioned the strategy of his remaining course of action. Between pointing out his 100% loss record with me and wanting more detail regarding his last chance to help me in any way, he became very rude, blamed all previous results on "corrupt judges, sneaky dishonest lawyers, and stupid clerks". All of a sudden, he became harder to reach at the time when he was needed the most, and he gave me vague messages about what he could try to do with the options I was unexpectedly facing (due to the fact that everything he did failed). For my last 2 chances to get relief from what I was facing: 1. I received an early am email from him telling me what he thought he should do and I immediately responded to him with two simple questions about that. Hours passed, he didn't respond to that message as well as two other 'sos' emails and a phone call to him, and when I finally did reach him he told me I was out of time. There were a couple of hours left in the day to file paperwork with the court but he said he didn't have any more time to do that for me. 2. The very last day to seek any legal relief, and this time I was the fool because I let him do this again. He sent a very brief email of what he could try to do, I again wanted even a LITTLE more info from him, the stakes were too high and I needed to know exactly what I was making a decision about, and this time? He NEVER contacted me for the rest of the day, and my family was evicted. It felt as if he was retaliating against me for me pointing out the fact that nothing he all but guaranteed would happen did in fact happen, and for questioning anything further he wanted to do after that. It's easy to be a 'good guy' when things go well, but when things go anything BUT well it seems to reveal one's true character. Mr. Carlson ended up costing three times more than what he estimated, and did not deliver any results. At all. It's very misleading to tell someone 'pay me this, I'll do this, and it will get you that', instead of 'It SHOULD or MAY (etc) get you....'. ESPECIALLY to someone who is in a very desperate situation. It even took him 2 weeks and countless messages/requests from me to refund what he was over paid for. What a very brutal lesson learned...One that has us still living a nightmare.

I would absolutely recommend Ken Carlson! His website www.caltenantlaw.com is the only one that actually leveled the playing field for tenants against landlords trying to evict them. Ken told tenants what their rights were, how to fight eviction (and win), thereby enabling renters facing eviction a level playing field against their landlords.
The options on this form for when I last worked with him only offer 1 month ago or later. Fact is, he's working with me right now and neutralized 80% of the fear of losing my home. Truth is, if it weren't for him I'd been out of my apartment two months ago!
My review is anonymous because I'm a reporter and author whose name is often Googled and I'd just as soon not have every person seeking one of my animal welfare articles learn that I'm in an eviction proceeding. If that weren't the case, I'd be pleased to have my name attached to this review.
