About me

I am a graduate of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.  I have a Bachelor of Science Foreign Service.  I attended the University of California Law School, Hastings, and graduated from there in 1969.  I was sworn in as an attorney with the California Bar Association January, 15, 1970.  My first attorney job was working as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Bernardino.  While there I handled many misdemeanor and felony trials.  My last year and a half with the District Attorney's Office I was assigned to a two-person team prosecuting major murder cases.  I left the office and moved to San Diego, CA., the middle of 1973.  I opened a private practice in downtown San Diego handling felonies both state and federal, misdemeanors and juvenile court cases handling both delinquency (crimes) and dependency (child abuse) cases.  I was asked to be a pro-tem judge at juvenile court and for a number of years would handle both delinquency and dependency cases on an as needed basis.  I taught juvenile delinquency law at Thomas Jefferson Law School in San Diego.  I joined and was active in the San Diego County Bar Association.  I was appointed Chairperson of the Criminal Law, Juvenile Law and Mental Health Committees of the County Bar Association.  I was the President of the Criminal Defense Lawyer's Club of San Diego.  I have been a speaker at many Bar Association and Criminal Defense Seminars.  My partner and I authored a Chapter in the 2011 publication Juvenile Criminal Defense Strategies, titled "The Intricacies of Juvenile Criminal Cases."  We enjoy working with young men and women who get in trouble with the law.  We take great pride in working on their present legal issues but as importantly putting in place rehabilitative programs to keep them out of trouble in the future.  We also enjoy working with families and extended families when their children and grandchildren are brought before the court for child protection issues.  We work with many fmailies that have drug, alcohol, mental health, sex abuse, and domestic violence issues.
