I was arrested for domestic battery in March 2016, a very serious crime. If convicted, I was facing possible jail time, loss of my gun rights, loss of my state licenses, huge fines, anger management classes, and future issues with custody and visitation with my child. I was scared and needed help q...uick. I never thought in a million years I would have been arrested for a battery charge and sure didn’t know how serious California treats domestic violence / battery cases. So… I interviewed 5 attorneys within a couple of days. They all were very good in their own right but I never felt like any of them really were going to be able to help me or had my best interests at heart. I sent him an email late that night telling him I wanted to retain him. I received the retainer agreement early Sunday morning, signed it, and he was hired. Impressed again! He is easy to reach and usually answers his phone but will always get back to you within a few hours when you call. He calls and sends updates as he gets them. He is easy to work with and takes the time to explain any questions you may have. He is as professional as they come. Mark is a bulldog too. He is all over the prosecutors and floods them with so much information about his clients and their situation that the prosecutors HAVE to pay attention. The prosecutors are forced to look at each case and the person being prosecuted instead of looking at each case as a number and another conviction. Mark explained that prosecutors are paid to get convictions period. Mark has some unique tools that force the prosecutors to think twice before seeking a conviction or plea deal. I bet prosecutors hate to see any cases defended by Mark Deniz. In regards to the outcome of my case, Mark got the charges DROPPED!!!! The experience he gained while being a prosecutor gives him so many advantages. He knows the system and how to work it, he is well respected by everyone in the court and legal system, and he is friends with many of the judges, prosecutors, and everyone you need on your side to help you get the best outcome possible. My case could have easily gone the other way and I truly believe it is because of Mark’s relationships experience, professionalism, charisma, and follow through that it ended with such a favorable outcome. I will recommend EVERYONE to Mark Deniz. He saved my life in a lot of respects and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I wish he practiced other areas of law as I would hire him to do it all. I contracted Mark Deniz to handle my DUI after reading through all of his positive reviews on his website, Avvo and Google. And believe me they are all true. I am so happy that I trusted him with my case. Not only did he work diligently in my best interest but he kept me informed and fought my DUI... as if I were a member of his family or a close friend. There were several times when he was able to speak to me on short notice and I know that he worked hard to make himself available to talk to me in person and answer my questions when I was feeling confused or nervous about possible outcomes. Going in to the DUI prosecutorial process I wasn’t very optimistic. I had a previous DUI in 2000 with a refusal and this time around involved a very high blood alcohol level, a hit and run and another refusal. As a father of a SDSU college student living a long distance away one of the worst thing you fear is hearing your child is in trouble with the law and was arrested for DUI.
