Ms. Spencer is a recent past member of the Executive Board of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) – the largest and most influential plaintiffs employment bar association in California. She served on the CELA Board for 12 years. She was the first chair of CELA's Education Committee, on which she served for 12 years. She is a former co-chair of CELA's Public Employment Committee.
In addition, Ms. Spencer is a co-chair of the San Diego affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the largest and most respected plaintiffs employment bar association in the country.
Ms. Spencer was a Member of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the California State Bar. Ms. Spencer was Chair of the Personnel Appeals Board for the City of La Mesa for two years and was a member of that Board for one year before.
