The city attorney kept telling them “no” after “no” but he wasn’t deterred, even when I was. It was an emotional rollercoaster but his calm demeanor eased my worries after every talk. You might hear from other DUI arrestees that a lawyer is futile, as SD law guarantees a conviction, regardless of the evidence. Lord knows I heard that at every class at my DUI program. This is simply false. These testimonies show you there is hope; don’t let the system convince you otherwise.
