Mr. Shapiro is a very experienced professional who is extremely knowledgeable about criminal law. The way he carries himself both inside and outside of the courtroom is second to none! I was in a helpless position and had been taken advantage of by a previous lawyer. Mr. Shapiro helped me get my fami...ly back as well as make sure I was doing everything I needed to do in order to stay out of jail. He is very detail oriented and made sure I was well informed every step of the way. I truly believe that if it wasn't for him I would not be sitting here with my family today.

I am a 40 y.o. male computer engineer in San Diego. I made an unfortunate mistake that was discovered and charges filed. I was very worried that my career would be over, not to mention even more severe consequences. I chose David Shapiro based on reading his Avvo reviews and I had a very positive ex...perience with him. David understands all intricacies of the law and knows how to use them defending his clients. When I first met him, he gave me an expected outline of how the events will unfold and what the timeline would be. His prediction was very close to what happened. He did not sugar coat any scenarios and gave me a precise picture of best/worst case scenarios. To assure a better defense Mr. Shapiro told me exactly what I should do and what information to collect to explain my circumstances. When additional charges were filed against me unexpectedly, he adjusted the strategy, and this new strategy still fell into the original time frame. As a result, I ended up proactively doing several hours of community service and counseling and got cleared of all charges after David presented my case to the City Attorney. The outcome was very close to the original best case scenario. My overall experience with David Shapiro exceeded expectations and I am very grateful to him. I have had some legal run ins in the past and was charged with being under the influence. To be honest I was very scared and thought that I might be in some serious trouble. From the very first moment I contacted Mr. Shapiro I was put at ease for my case. Initially i did have to plea to a conviction ...but within a month Mr Shapiro got the conviction and all accompanying issues such as fines, 4th waiver, and probation dismissed!! I would recommend Mr Shapiro to anyone that has a criminal legal issue. He is extremely knowledgeable about all possible outcomes and returned all phone calls and emails promptly and I never had any fear or did I have to wait for such a fantastic outcome to my case. Attorney Shapiro is skilled in his profession. He is a competent attorney and I believe he worked hard for the best outcome in my case(s). If, however, you are charged with a first time and are nearly as scared as I was, he may not be the best fit. Although he is a great attorney, I did not find him... to be very compassionate - I was in a frenzy (how would this impact my employment? when can I clear up my record? etc.). I found him to be rather impatient with me and am not convinced that he was really concerned about me. Perhaps this was just a personality issue. Despite this, he is a great attorney, a nice guy and he will go to bat for you.
