Won- IRS abated all failure to pay and failure to file penalties
Client was defrauded by his former tax attorney. The fraud, which included the intentional failure to file multiple years of tax returns, resulted in over $250,000 of IRS failure to file and failure to pay penalties.
IRS Audit turned Tax Court Appeal
Minor liability owed under $500
Client was audited for 2007. She had a Schedule C loss and substantial gambling income/losses. She failed to respond to the audit and received a notice of determination. A tax court petition was filed and the audited was taken to the appeals level in tax court. The client's records for 2007 were completely destroyed in a storage facility accident. Through forensic tracing, I was able to prove almost all of her expenses and gambling losses to the IRS attorney.
