After reading the documentation that he'd sent to San Mateo County ahead of the Gomez Hearing, the lawyer for the cou...nty informed us that it had changed its finding from "Substantiated" to "Now Unfounded or Inconclusive." The hearing date was cancelled. This saved me money, because I had planned to pay expert witnesses to testify on the day of the hearing. This saved me time, because I did not have to wait until up to 30 days after the hearing to find the result. Of course, the system is capricious. Your results may vary. I called Attorney Lounsbery back sometime ago. He quoted me a price of 3,000 for a fixed rate/flat fee for 3 months of representation on my divorce and custody case on the phone and when I got down to his office he said the cost was 5,000. This was after he wrote up our contract. I came to him lat...e in the game and had a court appearance in a couple weeks. I told him my concern and he stated he did not raise the rate on me. I felt desperate and paid the 5,000 for 3 months. In my contract it was 1,000 a month for every month after the 3 month period. I paid him 1 extra month after the 3 month period and asked him what he did to get my case done and he had made 1 phone call to my ex's attorney. This outrageous billing started even though I showed up with the divorce already started. I signed off and was never sent my file. You can do better then Tate!

I live in the Sacramento area and was in San Diego when I received a Minor in Possession at a house party.
