Due to his significant experience in the real estate industry and his dedication to the law, Chris is able to effectively and efficiently assist clients with both their simple and complex legal issues. He continually strives to put the client’s goals and needs above his own in order to obtain a favorable result for the client.
A Southern California resident his entire life, Chris obtained his real estate license at the age of 19 while attending California Lutheran University. Shortly before entering law school, he obtained his real estate broker’s license and opened his first real estate company with his father. While attending Pepperdine University School of Law, Chris maintained exemplary grades while simultaneously operating his real estate brokerage. He was also a staff member for the National Association of Administrative Law Judges Journal and a fellow of the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law. Chris graduated in 2007.
Upon graduating law school, Chris joined Carlson Law Group - one of the leading real estate broker defense firms in the State of California. As an associate, he specialized in real estate litigation, including but not limited to, the defense of real estate agents and brokers in professional negligence cases; real estate transaction disputes, and landlord tenant matters. Additionally, he also handled transactional matters, including the drafting and review of real estate documents (purchase agreements, leases, etc.), preparation of corporate documents, and preparations of responses to complaints with the Bureau of Real Estate (formerly Department of Real Estate). Due to his experience as a real estate broker, Chris regularly assisted hundreds of real estate brokers and agents through the firm’s risk management program for two of the largest errors and omissions insurance carriers in California.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his beautiful family and close friends. He also is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf, albeit not very well. Chris is also an Executive Board Member for Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, a charity that assists the homeless in and around the San Fernando Valley.

As a client and a fellow attorney, I highly recommend Chris Delaplane for real estate law related matters. He is not only an expert in the field of real estate law, but also a highly seasoned and professional practioner. Chris represented me in a complex transaction and I could not be happier with the way he advised me to navigate the transaction. There were several moments in the deal that could have easily resulted in both parties walking away, but Chris' careful attention to detail and tactful interaction with the seller kept things moving forward smoothly and swiftly. Highly recommended. Would both work with and hire Chris without a second thought.
Mr. Delaplane is knowledgeable, practical, persistent and patient with clients. I respect and trust his judgment and advice as an attorney and as a real estate professional. If I am ever in need of real estate advice, legal or otherwise, he is my first call. He is a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to working with him on future transactions.
