Beware of this attorney. Especially, if you are a woman.

It took me over a month to write this review because I wanted to make sure it was fair, thoughtful, and not written purely from emotion. I have even taken more time because the experience was genuinely difficult for me to process. I hired Patricia after deciding to move on from my previous attorne...y. I provided a complete file from my prior attorney and was told that her office would take over and begin working on my case. I paid my fees with the expectation that my case would be handled professionally and that I would have proper representation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Months went by with very little communication. The day before a court appearance, her office began urgently contacting me, telling me I needed to go to the courthouse in San Diego to obtain paperwork because they were unable to get it remotely. I was left scrambling at the last minute, extremely stressed, and trying to help their office gather documents that I had already explained were included in my previous attorney’s file. When I arrived at court, Patricia did not appear herself and sent another person to represent me. The person who appeared seemed unfamiliar with my case and did not properly introduce herself or advocate on my behalf. During the hearing, I felt completely unsupported. The judge questioned who was appearing for me and why someone other than the expected attorney was there. I was left trying to explain and defend myself while feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed in front of my former spouse and his attorney. I hired legal representation because I wanted a fair chance and because my family worked hard to help me afford that support. Instead, I walked away from that hearing feeling humiliated and alone. When I expressed my concerns to Patricia, her response was deeply upsetting. Rather than addressing my concerns, I felt dismissed and belittled. During our conversation, she told me that I was lying regarding what happened in court. That accusation was extremely hurtful and damaging. My profession is built on trust, honesty, and supporting people, so having my integrity questioned by someone I hired to protect me was devastating. I asked her how I could continue to trust someone to represent me if they believed I was dishonest. The response left me feeling unheard and unsupported. My experience with this firm left me without representation during one of the most stressful periods of my life. When I requested an accounting of my funds, I was told I would receive one, but after weeks of waiting, I was only informed that the money had been used. I never received the detailed accounting I was expecting. I originally chose Patricia because she was a woman, and I hoped she would understand the challenges I was facing. Instead, I felt dismissed, judged, and made to feel small. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. Please do your own research, ask detailed questions, and make sure you feel fully confident in who you trust with such an important and vulnerable part of your life.

We take client feedback very seriously. However, given the nature of our work we can not speak to details on specific clients cases. I will say generally speaking that anyone who spends time badmouthing others is not fair or thoughtful. Most reviews come from an emotional place during an emotional time. Some individuals struggle with the reality of their situation, and it is easier to blame others than take responsibility. Note that when clients come from prior attorneys it may indicate a difficult client. We pride ourselves at this firm on our communication and organization skills. We consider both of these very important. While we strive to help everyone, we cannot guarantee an outcome. Also, when we have not represented a party for very long, we are going to have to have cooperation in obtaining the entire file. Per our standard fee agreements, clients agree in my sole discretion I may send another attorney in my place. This is agreed upon in advance. The attorneys I send are excellent attorneys who fully know the case and advocate as best as possible. Unfortunately, many clients simply do not understand the process or are unwilling to accept advice from the professionals. Months can’t go by when we haven’t even represented someone for months. We may especially when it is not accessible online have to get a client's cooperation in getting a document from the court. Again clients agree that I can send other attorneys in my place and when I do the attorneys are skilled and knowledgeable. Clients who will not take our advice generally are hard to support but we do our absolute best to support all of our clients. We are not able to help everyone and for those who cannot get out of their own way we recommend alternative counsel. We cannot control others' emotions or feelings. Every client upon termination of services is provided a copy of their file, an accounting, and a notice of right to arbitrate. Ultimately, I am going to trust the attorneys I work with on a daily basis on what occurred in court. While it's never my intention to upset a client I must advocate for the truth and reason before emotion. We wish our prior clients health, wealth, and prosperity. We hope that she does well in her future endeavors.

Getting divorced cost money. Our services cost money. I am not going to apologize for being paid for my services. We performed and we were paid for our services. There is nothing more that can be said about this review. We are not a free clinic and contested divorces costs money to prosecute/defend. We wish this and all of our former clients the very best in their future endeavors.

Worst Ever

I paid 19,500.00 and got nothing but treated poorly. I should have taken the 7500 dollar initial hit and moved on as soon as I saw her dancing on the beach in her underwear on a video on her Google My Business page. Honestly, I never got an update and when I asked she yelled at me. The first hearing ...was a fiasco she didn't even show up on the call. It was a virtual hearing and she couldn't make it. How pathetic is that? For 19500 you would think she could at least show up. She first referred me out then comes back with a huge fee but lead me to believe that they could get this taken care of quickly. They are nothing but sales people. I would not recommend Patricia to represent anyone. She has also been in trouble before for her billing practices. You can find it on the bars site. Just do your homework. Read her reviews too. Read all of them. Then I would call someone else. She is so bad. I hired someone else and am going to try to get some of my money back but she has it set up to where you have to go through her pick of arbitrators. SCAM...RUN!

For the fees paid the client, as all my clients do, received excellent services. As stated, it was an initial fee and then continued fees over a period of time of representation. Hence the client was satisfied enough to continue to pay and receive services. As for me being a whole person with a real-life personality that is all true. Yes, I go to the beach. Yes, I dance. Yes, I wear a bikini. None of which is unpermitted activity, nor should clients be trying to policewoman's bodies. It is on social media and right there as part of my brand, so no one is surprised. As for the hearings, my office ALWAYS shows up, virtual or in person unless there is an emergency and then the court and clients are notified of such. Nothing about my representation is pathetic. I am eager to help clients, not married, and don't have children. My practice is and has always been my life. Again, for the fees paid excellent services were provided which included attending and handling hearings. I also always make sure clients are updated but unfortunately, not all clients can understand the updates. Also, clients tend to have unrealistic expectations about how "quickly" something can be done. While my office does have individuals who help with intake and screening, we are more than salespeople and have a whole team of great legal minds both attorneys and paralegals. While we strive to please everyone, it is simply not possible and not everyone is going to recommend our services. However, as the reviews reflect more love us and our work than not. To clarify, my firm nor my office have ever been in trouble with the bar for "billing practices." There was a dispute over loan modification work (which my firm no longer does) and whether or not it can be performed while also representing someone in a lawsuit. Completely unrelated to a probate or family law matter. By all means please do read the reviews (all of them). The reviews speak for themselves and clearly show how much our clients love our work. My work and my integrity are great. I am happy the client hired someone else and hope for the client's sake that attorney can get her the result she is seeking. To be clear it is not set up that clients have to use an arbitrator I picked. I simply provide a notice of right to arbitrate with the client at the end of representation and then they can seek to arbitrate. Which arbitrator's are picked are outside of my control. I truly wish this person the best and hope they can find peace.

Keep Looking

After working with Patricia for a couple of years I wouldn't recommend her services. The most unprofessional incident that occurred while working together, was Patricia showed up to court smelling of marijuana where she had to be searched by the courtroom bailiff admitting to smoking a joint in the ...car but not being in possession of anything in the courtroom. Her team over sells clients on services provided and she did not fully honor a flat fee agreement after being paid $30k in full spending months offering various excuses with more focus on finding a way to weasel out of our agreement than on my actual case. I even had our agreement reviewed by 2 outside counsels who informed me Patricia was violating our agreement. I will be working with my attorneys who reviewed the contract to file a complaint about her services, and you should look elsewhere for help.

Given the nature of the services provided I cannot provide responses to each part of reviews as most information is confidential. However, I can say unequivocally I was never searched by any bailiff at any time. Nor was this issue every raised with any court. Further, this client was satisfied enough with my services per his own post that he kept me on as his attorney for several years. It is now that I am no longer willing to represent him, he is posting this review. I cannot help everyone. Our services are not for everyone. However, if you want an a diligent, resilient, and aggressive attorney then you should seek our help. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Worse attorney

Contacted her company in Nov…. The best part was her crew chasing money for confirmation …… after getting my case and money …. Story was started ! She assigned a person to take over my case, who she knew nothing about it before the court day. After 4 times in the court during these 6 months, she as...ked me to give the other $2500 to have more ppl to focus in my case …. I lost the case, I had to give the almost amount that the company which was being asked for. With her fees + amount that I need to pay = lost case ! Why I still need to hire her/them if I committed to pay the amount !

Having determined who this was I can say unequivocally that some people's expectations are just unrealistic. This person's case was fully dismissed and a favorable outcome despite that she is still complaining. There literally couldn't have been a more favorable outcome. Some people can't be satisfied, and we still wish those people the best in all of their future endeavors.
