No better choice for a lawyer

After searching and having initial consultations with a number of lawyers to find one to review a severance offer and circumstances surrounding my layoff by a former employer I came across The Cowan Law Firm. From the initial contact to all the communication we had after deciding to retain them for m...y legal needs they have always been responsive, informative, and professional. Jeffrey Cowan and his team have always struck me as being trustworthy and down to earth as well as willing to listen to questions and concerns I may have had and provided suggestions based on their expansive experience. There is no firm that I could recommend more highly than The Cowan Law Firm for legal needs regarding employment law.

Excellent Lawyer

After almost 20 years of a very successful career, my wife had to go on disability. Subsequently, her employment was terminated due to her Company’s policy on approved long term disability. She was offered no health care, or severance. Soon after, she hired Jeffrey Cowan, Esq. to see if an equitab...le settlement could be reached. A few months later she signed an agreement which included a significant monetary award and health coverage. If you need a knowledgeable, fair and efficient attorney, look no further than The Cowan Law Firm. P.S., I write this at my wife’s request since she does not have an account.

Honest and Hardworking!

My coworker suggested we use Jeffrey Cowan to represent us in an employment dispute over the violation of our civil rights -- and I am SO glad we did!! Jeffrey immediately put me at ease, listening to our case and helping us to understand the things that might have been confusing and also explaining... we would not need to pay for anything up front. He was very straight forward about the possibilities for our case, and we knew that we were dealing with a very honest and adept man. Jeffrey proved these traits further in the closing of our case as he fought for us and spotted important clauses/issues we hadn't considered that might have hindered us in the future if we had not addressed them. If asked to refer a lawyer, I would not hesitate for a moment to suggest Jeffrey. He will fight for you and unequivocally do what's right.

ethical, hard-working, and dedicated to your case

I've known Jeff since law school, and I've referred dozens of cases to him over the years. (He's so in demand that only a lucky few of them were able to get Jeff to take on their cases.) Jeff has about the highest integrity I've seen in an attorney. He's willing to take on large and powerful peopl...e on behalf of a client who has been wronged. He's willing to work crazy hours to ensure that his clients are fully represented. If I'm ever unfortunate enough to need my own attorney, I'd think of Jeff first.

Great small business attorney

In this day of legal specialists, it is really valuable to have an attorney broad enough to serve as a "personal /small business attorney" without compromising depth. Mr. Cowan is such an attorney. I engaged him initially for a tenant dispute, then used him again for a labor issue, an intellectual ...property issue and a contract issue. He was able to handle each of these on his own, but in all cases 1) told me when he was close to the limits of his expertise and 2) had a tremendous network of specialists he could refer me to. Mr. Cowan is a former litigator but is not litigious--this means he is willing to go to court and knows what legal strategy he will adopt, but views trial as suboptimal. This strategic approach is tremendously valuable in forcing the client to make tough decisions up front (and saving legal expense in the process). Because of the nature of my business, I have worked with a number of attorneys. The only time I felt I needed the specialists was a) a patent filing, and b) designing an ERISA compliant benefit plan.
