Disregard for his ethical duty interfering with a witness on a DV case

Christopher Darden, attorney-at-law, has shown alarming behavior that raises serious ethical concerns. He has interfered with witnesses in sensitive domestic violence cases, undermining the legal process and compromising his duty to act in the best interests of his clients. Even more troubling is his... tendency to engage with victims of domestic violence in a manner that appears manipulative and harmful, rather than supportive. His actions demonstrate a disregard for the ethical responsibilities expected of a legal professional, all while continuing to charge clients. Potential clients and anyone dealing with sensitive matters like domestic violence should be extremely cautious when considering his services. The lack of professionalism and empathy displayed here is concerning for those who need a trustworthy advocate.

My Personal Opinion … Darden is Poor Excuse for Legal Representation

Darden made a great first impression but failed me in every step of my case. He and his colleague failed to keep me informed throughout the nine months that passed until my appearance before Judge Cooley. Despite my requests via voicemail, email, and text for updates, I was frequently left in the d...ark unaware of the status of my case. I was informed that Darden would appear in court on my behalf and that it would be unnecessary for me to appear. However, it is my understanding that he simply had his office request extension after extension until nine months later when I was contacted in the afternoon to inform me that I had to appear in court the next morning at 8:30 a.m. Throughout the nine month waiting period, I only met with Darden ONCE after our initial first meeting. He never called, emailed, or text me despite the fact that I was repeatedly told by his office that he would call me to discuss my case. Instead, he turned me over to his colleague who also repeatedly failed to keep me informed about the status of my case. I apprised Darden of an assault upon me by a female officer while I was in custody.. and he promised to obtain the film through procedural channels to negotiate my DUI. However, he did absolutely nothing in that regard. Instead, I arrived at court on time as instructed by Darden’s office. And Darden arrived three hours after my arrival. No pre-consultation as promised by his office. I had waited and waited only to be advised to plead guilty to a wet and reckless charge. No follow through on the assault upon me by the female officer. He simply dropped the ball but collected $10,000 from me. I would have received better legal representation from a public defender at no expense. Thereafter, when I informed Darden that I deserved better representation and that I intended to file a complaint with the California State Bar Association, he countered my email with unprofessional distortions and misrepresentations about my character and my case. To say I was appalled would be an understatement. In my personal opinion, Darden is a disgrace to his profession. My post is anonymous because I fear reprisal by him.
