Edward Lear and his team at Century Law Group are the best in the business. He is smart, prepared, and confident. Reinstatement after disbarment is nearly impossible. However, fear not. Edward will guide you every step of the way with impeccable judgment and instincts. I would not have been reinstated to the practice of law without his guidance. I owe my career to Edward Lear.
I sought Mr. Lear's advice on moral character issues I was having before the bar. His candid, honest, and tough advice laid out the tools I needed to put my best foot before the Bar. Now I am a grateful and happy attorney.
As a business litigation specialist, Attorney Edward Lear represents partnerships, corporations, sole proprietorships, joint ventures, and limited liability companies in shareholder disputes, contract disputes and collections disputes. Our team of Ivy-League attorneys at Century Law Group represents our clients through every stage of business, from consultations on formation questions to aggressive litigation.
At Century Law Group we are attorneys helping attorneys understand the complex area of legal ethics in their own practices. The Rules of Professional Conduct and the State Bar Act provide guidelines for proper behavior and ethical practice management, but these rules are frequently changing and can be difficult to understand for lawyers who do not deal with them on a regular basis.
Our attorneys represent individuals and businesses in both residential and commercial real estate matters. We advise our clients in real estate transactions, negotiate the terms of these transactions, prepare lease agreements, and represent clients in litigation if and when disputes arise.

Attorney
I came to Mr. Lear with some ethics questions and was able to get thorough answers to them quickly and cost-effectively. I would highly recommend Mr. Lear based on his experience and his body of knowledge. Don’t bother shopping around, call him first.

Former Client
I hired Mr. Lear to represent me regarding a disciplinary complaint made by a former client against me. The complaint was frivolous, however the State Bar was making me jump through many hoops and I was concerned. Mr. Lear was able to make a few phone calls to his former colleagues at the State Bar Prosecutor's office and get all of the allegations dropped. He did an outstanding job.
If you are facing any type of licensing issues (State Bar or DRE) then I would definitely hire Mr. Lear.

Good Lawyer
I consider Mr. Lear a good lawyer in his area of expertise. He is knowledgeable and I have been impressed by the results he obtained in some published cases that prove the ability he has to mitigate the circumstances of his clients and obtain the less intrusive and damaging outcome, lowering the level of discipline that was initially intended for his client. I believe he is a good lawyer and it is worth to consult and have into consideration when making a decision for representation before the bar. I have referred him to some of my colleges that are in need of representation and they have been satisfied with the advice and guidance during their process before the State Bar.

If there was a rating less than one star, he would deserve it.
After hiring Mr. Lear for defending me in a State Bar action I can say it was the worst legal experience I have witnessed in 30 years of legal practice. I found Mr. Lear non-responsive to emails. He generally responded with as few words possible and did not communicate what his legal opinion was, or give advice. He did not know my case, even to the day of trial. He actually asked me to write part of an opening brief. And when I told him I had hired him for that, he wrote a brief that was not accurate. Finally, we went to trial and he was woefully unprepared. Result, we lost.

Terrible attorney
He left a death threat which I did not make in the letter. Allowed them to question if I was a player and generally did nothing for 5000.00. He's terrible at defending nurses who are accused of wrongdoing and thinks that if you know pushing potassium chloride faster than 10 meq an hour can result in death means you'd do it.
