Jon Artz is a true master of his craft and saved me a lot of stress and anguish. I was facing a 2nd DUI. Because of the particulars of my case (sleeping in a parked car, suspected breach of protocol by the cops, etc.) I decided it was worth it to spring the extra dough for a private attorney.
The short version, Artz was communicative and made me feel like I was in good hands throughout the entire ordeal. He reduced my sentence down to a small fee, 5 months probation, the standard 18 month alcohol class and meetings, and 6 days jail time, of which Jon advised I would only serve about a day or two in the LA County jail. I'll admit, I was nervous. What if he was wrong and I ended up spending the full 6 days in that cesspool of jail? He assured me otherwise and I took his word for it. Well the next week when I went to go turn myself in at the jail they offered me the option of 3 days community service. NO JAIL time. I can get my license back as well and drive, but not before dealing with the headache of the SR22 Insurance, ignition interlock and DMV. Even here, Jon had excellent advice and contacts to help make the process a lot less frustrating.
Jon truly takes an interest in his clients and somehow makes the whole screwed up, scary, and embarrassing situation seem a little more bearable. I truly felt like I had somebody fighting for my side. In the court room he knew the prosecutors and was chatting with them before discussing my case. Jon's years of experience and knowledge has given him a shorthand with many judges and prosecutors in LA which can only help your case.
I hope I never have to cross paths with this miracle worker again, but if I ever find myself in trouble I'll definitely have Jon back in my corner.

Mr. Artz was very helpful through a period of my life when I needed help. I was extremely troubled by anxiety at that time, and with the legal troubles I was really only able to think from a place of fear. Mr. Artz took care of my case so that I could take care of myself, and throughout the case, he always communicated with me in a straightforward way that reassured me and helped me keep things in perspective. Often, checking in about the case would help me go from *really really worried* to a place where I could think, right now, things are okay, and they will be okay tomorrow too.
I got my DUI after a relapse (alcohol) and immediately left for inpatient treatment. Mr. Artz was very understanding of my situation, and encouraging. I knew that I had shot myself in the foot by refusing to blow at the scene -- I wasn't in my right mind -- and I was doubtful that I really had a "best option" but, after conferring with Mr. Artz, we followed a course of action that saved me money and jail time.
He advised me how to collect all my documentation (supporting letters, signatures, etc.) and I sent everything to him, and his office put it all together and submitted to the courts. I only had to go to court once and it was a huge relief to see my case handled so well, and then to walk out of the courthouse knowing that was the end.
In the end, thanks to Mr. Artz, the judge struck the refusal, and I did not have to serve any of the harshest penalties that come with the refusal: the 9 month (longest) class, the crazy fine, the jail time, etc.
Also, he explained all about the DMV side of things (totally separate from the criminal part) and really helped with that too. Mr. Artz knows the DMV really well, and he definitely knows the best plan for dealing with them. It's a tough job to try to sway the DMV, because they're not the court and they seem to just do what they want without any checks. In my case, a light touch was Mr. Artz's strategy and it totally paid off.
I am very appreciative of Mr. Artz's support and guidance, and I am planning to reach out to him in a few years when I am able to take steps to expunge this thing from my past from my record.
If you are a worrier or aren't a worrier, please give Mr. Artz a call if you are in trouble!

Jon Artz is a Wizard, a true master of his craft. He and his team of professionals offer years of experience, and reasonable solutions to the greatest of problems. Through Jon's guidance and expertise, he was able to guide my family and I through an extremely difficult and frightening situation. His knowledge of the various court systems, cutting edge law practices, and ability to foresee every best possible scenario is what makes him the best, and sets him apart from the rest. Not only is he willing to exhaust every possible weapon in his arsenal to win your case, he knows how and when to execute properly. I faced serious penalties, but Jon was able to significantly , SIGNIFICANTLY , reduce my charges. I am very thankful that Jon and his team, took personal ownership and interest in my case; otherwise, I would currently be in a very bad position.
Jon is a very trustworthy and reputable man; all I have are good words for him, and my best regards.

I was referred to Jon Artz by another lawyer in the area. I was involved in an accident and ended up arrested with a DUI. Despite the evidence against me, including an apparent .17 BAC, Jon Artz used his expertise on my case and showed that most of the evidence against me was actually deeply flawed. Not only that, but due to the hard work and extreme diligence of Mr. Artz, my case was completely dismissed! I was really afraid for my future, as I had never been in any sort of trouble with the law before, but Jon took care of everything. He truly knew the law behind the case and worked extremely hard to build the best case possible. I would highly recommend Mr. Artz!

Long story short, I was being faced with a DUI and possession of a firearm. This was my first DUI and firearm offense. All my other run ins with the law were minor speeding tickets etc. I called a few lawyers but there was something missing or too expensive about them. I stumbled across Jon on this Avvo website and seen that he had good reviews so why not, I called him, BEST decision I made!!! He got on the phone with me and was super cool and already helped me before I even hired him with advice. I hired him and he jumped on the case. He found numerous things the police did wrong and could fight in court. He also kept me driving legally the entire time after my DUI arrest and after going to court. Jon is like the Law wizard, he'll find things I believe not alot of Lawyers will find nor care about you like any other lawyer will. He is super intelligent when it comes to wording and the law so when you explain your situation and you word it wrong he will instantly correct you, not for the bad but for the good, so LISTEN to him!! Also DO everything he tells you to do. Obviously all situations are never the same but Jon will find you the best solution or scenario to your DUI related problem. God willing I will never have to call Jon again BUT I will absolutely recommend him to anyone who gets a DUI because he will fight for you and help throughout the whole process. Dont look any further, Jon Artz is your man for DUI!!!

From the first day I spoke with Mr. Artz, he took his time to speak with me regarding the details of my case and what he would be willing to do for me. I didn't hesitate to hire him as my attorney since I could sense that he truly cared about helping me. Long story short, I was charged with 2 counts for DUI and there was no way I could afford to have anything on my record as this will affect my career. I made the decision to go to trial. Even though this experience is terrifying I felt confident in knowing that I had the best representation on my side. Mr. Artz used his 42+ years of experience in trial and as a result the verdict came back "Not Guilty". Thank you Mr. Artz!!

I got my 3rd dui last year. I was coming from a bar and got into a car accident in the freeway. I knew I was going to have to go to jail. But my wife told me to call Jon Artz who helped me out with my second dui which they drop the dui to wreck less driving. So I did and before I went to court I turned my self into a rehab which helped me out. Jon was able to count my time in rehab towards my advantage of not going to jail. They were trying to give me 6 months in county jail so all I did was 3 months in rehab and 3 months in a sober living which was way better than jail. Jon Artz is a great lawyer I would really recommend him he is well respected in court and he will do all he can to help you. Thanks Jon Artz for your hard work.

Jon Bryant Artz is hands-down the best DUI lawyer. In my case, he pulled off miracles and I couldn’t be more thankful. Originally, I was charged with 2 felony counts of DUI with injury, with a special circumstance of a BAC of .15 or greater. I served 5 days in jail after arrest. When I got out on recognizance, I was referred to Jon by a friend of mine who is a lawyer. During the consultation, he was reassuring, but realistic. He said he would be able to get them down to Misdemeanor DUI’s with Injury, but would try to get me down to a straight DUI. Throughout the negotiations with the DA, Jon kept me abreast of what was happening with my case.
5 months later, I went to court to plea and get my sentence. Jon had negotiated that in exchange for a “No Contest” plea to ONLY 23152b (1 Misdemeanor DUI WITHOUT injury), I would serve a very minimal sentence. Don’t get me wrong – even minimum DUI sentences are tough, but compared to facing 4 years in prison and losing my job, house, etc., this sentence is a cake walk.
Ultimately, Jon negotiated the following:
1. Time served (NO MORE JAIL TIME!)
2. Completion of the Hospital and Morgue Program
3. 1 MADD victim panel class
4. 3 month DUI school (the bare minimum!)
5. 156 AA meetings to be completed in 1 year (However, the DA decide to give me credit for the 24 AA meetings I had done proactively before sentencing)
6. $390 fine (the bare minimum!)
7. No license suspension!
And I didn’t even have to plead Guilty.
Restitution to the victim is still on the table, but Jon is working closely with my insurance company to have them take care of it all. I have great faith that Jon will be able to pull this off.
Furthermore, Jon worked with the DMV to ensure that my license would be restricted only, not revoked. He also has insurance companies he works with for DUI cases to get you much better rates.
I highly, highly recommend Jon. He saved me from what could have been a total disaster and I’m confident he can do the same for you.

Jon is an amazing lawyer. The best in my opinion. I was invovled in an accident and was looking at felony dui .09% Pas. Jon knows the law very well and worked hard to get the charge drop from felony dui to misdemeanor reckless driving and also avoiding jail. He is a life saver, i highly recommend him.
