Five years ago, my life was turned completely upside down. My biggest cheerleader, my Father, was killed in an accident involving a truck from Canada. I’ll never forget the feeling of hearing the words that my Dad had been killed and thinking, “How will I ever make this okay? We shouldn’t be having this conversation—it’s Mom’s birthday and they’re supposed to be here to visit their grandson and celebrate their birthdays!”
As I come to the 5-year anniversary of my Dad’s death I decided that writing this letter was the right thing to do and might be part of the healing process. I’ll write it so that you can share it with prospective clients who may find comfort knowing what you’ve done for others who faced similar situations.
Within days of my Dad’s funeral, I contacted the trucking company whose response was, “Why do you think anyone here wants to talk to you?” I was at a loss—they were in Canada, my Mom was in NC and I was in CT. How could I take care of everyone and find justice for my Dad? Then a package came from your firm. In the beginning I wasn’t sure if filing a suit was the right thing to do or not. However, I decided that the only way to make the company think about what they were doing and who they were putting behind the wheel was from the financial perspective.
Your hard work has enabled my Dad to leave a legacy behind that will make a huge difference in my son’s (Michael -7) life. It is amazing that out of such tragedy a good life lesson is learned. That lesson is that there are wonderful people in this world who are willing to help others. Thank you all for everything! I wish there were a better way of expressing my gratitude as those words seem entirely too small for what you came to mean in my Dad’s life. My Dad would have been proud to have you all working for him.
Clark, your kindness over the phone during our conversation was such a reassurance as we faced the mediation. I truly was impressed by what you’d learned of my Dad by reading the mounds of information I’d shared. I knew you cared and appreciated that you’d taken the time to know my Dad.
Daddy would have loved you all and I know his spirit smiled to know that you were helping us, who he’d left behind and lived through this process.
The fact that we came to Maryland for mediation and we had three attorneys sitting with us at the table was amazing to me. To consider that with the caseloads you carry and all the good you do for your clients—we had Paul and Clark who had flown across the country from California to support us. And we had Cara who had been with us throughout the process. That day, you all treated my family with such respect and compassion—(as you had throughout)—you wanted our voices to be heard and our stories to be shared. After it all you were so concerned about getting me back to the airport and ensuring that I was in a safe, convenient and comfortable spot. You stayed with us until the Medicare questions were finally solved. You didn’t walk away when we had payment in hand—you stayed until the job was done—every “i” dotted and “t” crossed. You were and are amazing.
I’m proud to know you.
Please feel free to share my information with anyone. I’d love the opportunity to repay you in some small way for all you’ve done.
Also, to be able to help someone else through their difficult time would be an honor.
I give you my highest recommendation. Thank you!

Here I sit, finally writing a letter of thanks to you wonderful people. It has been a long journey, over 5 years to be exact, that our dear beloved brother Bill was killed in the 2005 Glendale Metrolink train crash. Thank goodness there are people like you that are so knowledgeable and compassionate.
Little did we know that one day we would need the services of attorneys that deal in deaths with a major city and state transportation system. Thank you for being there when we needed you. There is no way on earth that we could ever have gone through the maze of such a large lawsuit without the help of you. When there is a transportation crash or accident, whether it be a train, plane or bus, there are so many legalities that the common citizen would never know how to maneuver through the maze of litigation. This is one sure area that one needs very good legal representation.
We also appreciate the outstanding job you did with us and other clients to try and change some of the safety issues on how the Metrolink train runs. Unfortunately it takes quite a few accidents/crashes, deaths and injuries before these companies change their policies.
My brother Bob and I wish we could have met your fine law firm and staff in another way, but fate brought us together in this unfortunate situation. My dear brother Bill would have loved to have met you, but I am sure he is looking down at all of us and is at peace with the results.
We feel you have done an excellent job representing us in this matter. If in the future a potential client needs a recommendation, please feel free to call on us. We would be honored to recommend your thorough, complete and timely services. We were also very happy with the contract and percentage basis you offered us. Many people who used other firms were not so lucky.
We also want to give a big thank you to Nidia, who has spent endless days and evenings keeping us abreast of the new and daily current information.
Again, we thank the firm for all your needed help. You will always be in our thoughts.
