I've hired many lawyers over the past 40 years of business and must say that Chris is one of the best, most knowable, responsive professionals I have come across. he always calls back..which is a big one for me...an d knows his SH*T As a plaintiff in a Construction Defect lawsuit against the Gener...al Contractor that built my home, I hired Chris Mass for a few reasons: 1. He was always well informed and did the necessary research to confirm a legal position and our assertions. 2. He was cordial, respectful to all parties involved. 3. He stayed the course and eventually brought a subcontractor into the picture and secured a settlement from the Sub. 4. Obtained a $650k + judgement agains the General Contractor I have referred Chris to many associates and friends and would rehire him in a heartbeat if a situation warranted legal representation.

Chris represented my company in a Federal case against a major corporation represented by one of the large top 5 litigation law firms in the country with a massive budget. Despite being out manned by this power house law firm with endless funding with Chris' help we were able to ultimately receive a ...settlement larger than the major corporation was willing to initially offer. This case took 2 years and countless legal motions and manouverings to try to have the case dismissed. He was unfamiliar with Federal court proceedings but did the necessary research and involved additional people with the appropriate experience to help. He allowed others to take the lead when appropriate never allowing his ego to get in the way. This was an extremly difficult business case as the contract that we were seeking to be enforced was poorly drafted and ambiguous. He was very willing to take advice and direction as to how the case was best presented. The opposition was an extremly intimidating group that were extremly rude and in my judgement they pressed the boundaries. Despite this antagonistic environment he remained calm and didn't appear overwhelmed. This case was tried under Texas law so this added a further complexity as Chris is a California lawyer. Did a good job taking depositions from individuals that had been prepared for many hours by the opposing counsel. This was achieved in an environment where the opposing counsel was overly involved in directing the answers of the individual being deposed. My knowledgeable above assessment is based on lack of familiarity with the Federal system and Texas law which may be a little harsh given the circumstances. Was very timely disclosing issues to me and preparing documents for review. This was a very expensive case for a small company, he realized our budget constraints and worked within those. I thought his billable hours were very fair and where he had to do research to enable him to be familiar with Texas law he assumed those costs. Very personable and a pleasure to work with, user friendly. It would have been very easy to get totally overwhellemed by the opposing counsel in this case and lose your cool, he remained very even tempered throughout this very difficult process.

Chris represented me in a construction fraud litigation case with the utmost professionalism and tenacity. He not only had a default judgement against me dismissed but through his experience, knowledge and effectiveness he had me dismissed out of the entire case - something my prior attorney couldn'...t do and/or figure out.
