About me

Homa Sayyar Woodrum has been licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada since October 2007.  She graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in May 2007 with her Juris Doctorate.  Prior to law school she earned her BSBA in International Business at UNLV and has lived in Nevada since mid-2000 after relocating from Wasilla, Alaska.

Guardianship practice found Homa as a law clerk and later as an associate attorey.  Both adult and minor guardianship carry with them their own unique challenges and though the courts are (and should be) open to access by self-represented parties, having an attorney at your side can provide peace of mind.  After working as an attorney in Las Vegas, Homa briefly lived in Winnemucca, Nevada (those familiar with Johnny Cash may recall a musical reference to the Northern Nevada town) before returning to Las Vegas where she would later hold an Of Counsel position at Sidhu Law Firm.  Guardianship practice over the last two years expanded and exciting new opportunities to be an independent business owner beckoned.  In January 2014 Woodrum Law LLC was established to continue serving the community in the area of Elder Law (Guardianship, Probate, and more).

Homa's legal experience also includes civil litigation, bankruptcy, immigration/naturalization, family law (divorce and annulment), and corporate/business related practice.  In 2013 she was inducted into Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's "100 Hours Club" for providing over 100 hours of pro bono (free) legal services through LACSN.  In 2012 she was listed on LACSN's "Honor Roll" relating to pro bono service and volunteered at their "Ask-A-Lawyer" program held at Family Court.  She is also currently a member of the Clark County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Homa is a proud U.S. Citizen.  Her first name is a variant spelling of the Persian name for a mythical bird of paradise not unlike a phoenix.  She enjoys outdoors activities like running and bicycling (though not very fast in either pursuit).  She and her husband (also an attorney), have two children.
