Attorney Smith has been our attorney for the past 5 years and assisted our family with not only family law case but also personal injury and a real estate dispute. His new staff is phenomenal and quick to answer my questions and set me up with meeting with Attorney Smith to assist me along the way. What I appreciate most is how Mr. Smith walked me through the process, what to expect, and has prepared me for the outcome. He took my calls late into the evening and answered emails on the weekends. I'm not sure he sleeps. His staff sends me every document as it is filed with the court and explains what each step means. Overwhelmed with the kindness and care during very difficult circumstances.

I hired Kurt Smith to help me with a child custody case. My ex had just file a TPO against me and was not letting me see my kids. I met with Mr. Smith and he explained how he could help. Within two months, Mr. Smith helped me get joint custody of my kids and my ex was no longer able to withhold my kids from me. Excellent attorney. I would use him again for any other legal need I had.

I hired another attorney to handle my divorce. I won't mention the name because I don't want to give them a dime of free advertising. After "earning" my $15,000 retainer in about two months, they dropped me as a client because I didn't have another $15,000 to give them. I was ready to throw my hands up and give up. I told a friend about my situation. He told me I had better call Kurt. Kurt reviewed my case, explained where I was, and told me what I needed to do to finish the divorce. He finished my case for a $3000 flat fee. Unbelievable. 45 days later. Why didn't I call this guy first! A lot of people say you get what you pay for. That wasn't true in my case. I paid $15000 to another firm and got jacksh*t. But with Kurt, you pay for what you get. Mr. Smith was smart, no-nonsense, and reasonably priced. He told me what he would do for me, told me how much it would cost, and did the job. I would get emails from this guy at like 2:00 in the morning. I don't think he ever sleeps. But he earned my thanks and my trust. Next time I need an attorney, Kurt's the man the first time.

I was married to a lawyer here in town. My husband wanted to do all of the divorce papers himself so that we could "save money". My husband explained that because he is a lawyer, he knows the law. He wrote up all the paperwork and told me to sign it right away or I would get nothing. I was scared. I almost signed. Instead, I called Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith reviewed my paperwork for free. He showed my the parts of the paperwork that worked, showed me where my husband was playing games, and showed me where my husband was 100% wrong. He explained how Nevada law REALLY worked and what a judge was likely to rule if we went to trial. I decided to hire Mr. Smith to help me. Best decision ever. Mr. Smith wrote a letter to my husband and told him about the changes I wanted to make to the paperwork. After getting the paperwork, my husband was so mad! He came home and stormed around the house for a few days. (Yes...we were still living together.) A few days later, my husband handed me a new set of divorce paperwork. Guess what was in it...EVERTHING MR. SMITH ASKED FOR!!! I signed the papers that day and we were divorced a week later. My jack*ss ex moved out (I got the house!) and I have never been happier. Best part? It cost me under a thousand dollars. I know attorneys. I was married to one. Most of the attorneys I know are total DBs. Not this guy. Chill, smart, funny, and apparently, at least based on what happened with my ex, better at the law than most other attorneys in town. I would hire him again in a second (but I don't need to because I am never getting married again.) Thanks Kurt!

I hired Kurt Smith to help me with a child support case. My ex wife was trying to collect money from me that I didn't owe. We were divorced in another country and the child support was set, but my wife was trying to get extra money from me plus interest and penalties. I tried to go to court by myself to resolve the issue, but the judge wouldn't listen to me. Thank god for Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith went to court for me and showed the judge exactly what I was trying to tell the judge, but in a way the judge could understand it. I went from owing thousands and thousands of extra dollars to owing zero extra dollars. In fact, the judge ordered my ex wife to pay my attorney's fees as a punishment for lying to the court. I have read some of the other reviews on this site and agree with some of the other reviewers. Mr. Smith is cool, calm, and confident. He has a reason to be. He knows exactly what he is doing and the judges seem to love to listen to every word he says. That is really funny because I got to sit in the back of the courtroom with Mr. Smith before my hearing. I watched the judge interact with several other attorneys. Some of the attorneys made the judge mad. Some of them it seemed like the judge didn't respect. But when Mr. Smith came to the table, the judge was all smiles. I was shocked at how comfortable Mr. Smith was with the judge and how comfortable the judge was with Mr. Smith. My ex wife's attorney didn't stand a chance. He tried to interrupt Mr. Smith several times. All Mr. Smith had to say was "Your Honor" and the judge would shut the other attorney down. This is my only case so I can only speak for my case, but I would absolutely hate to be an attorney on a case against Mr. Smith. When I first went to Mr. Smith's office, he told me he had a great relationship with most of the judges. I didn't know what he meant until we got done with my hearing. At least this judge seemed to absolutely love Mr. Smith. If he has that same relationship with all of the other judges, I can't see how this guy ever loses. Anyway, great attorney. I spent a few thousand dollars, but saved over $35,000 by hiring Mr. Smith. I can't thank him enough.

I hired Kurt Smith to help me get custody of my children. I live out of state and was getting reports that my children were getting into trouble. Mr. Smith and his team were amazing. They got right to work on my case, got me an emergency hearing, and got the judge to transfer custody right away even before the trial. A trial was set for later that summer, but thanks to Mr. Smith's work, we were able to completely resolve the case without a trial. Mr. Smith saved me thousands. If you're looking for a great attorney that will get right to work on your case AND win, you have come to the right place.

Think TWICE & move on before retaining this attorney! Especially if you expect professionalism, communication & value for your money.
My first clue should have been the poorly written demand letter. Little wonder it didn't have the desired effect.
Neither did my call to his office asking further action be put on hold. Oddly, Mr Smith continued ordering work be typed up which conveniently used up my retainer.
His office manager couldn't resolve my concerns so she set up a phone conference at 1 pm. By 7pm, he hadn't called nor could I get any help from his staff.
Don't be taken in by his calm demeanor & confidence. After the initial consult you'll never talk to him again.
Also kiss your retainer goodbye when you give it to him. He'll find some reason to use it up, believe me!!

We just had our first consultation with Kurt after I researched him on this site. My husband and I are trying to negotiate bankruptcy and an amicable divorce. It is a very difficult situation, as it is in any legal dispute, and Kurt did a great job of being fair. He steers the conversation away from the why and tries to focus on how to fix the issues at hand. At times I felt, understandably, emotional and he kept trying to keep us focused on brainstorming how to make a plan that works for both of us. It's hard to talk about these types of issues and I was impressed with how he handled our case. We are looking forward to working with Kurt.
