After contacting a half-dozen of law firms, in which I discussed the synopsis of my wife’s case, Maria was the only one who agreed to setup a follow-up appointment for a face-to-face assessment of the circumstances. My intention was to ensure the doctor who caused my wife’s death, did not get off ...scott-free. Why Texas?... “Texas is a state now known for tort reform. As part of this tort reform, several limits have been placed on the damages those injured by medical malpractice can receive.”, this is the main reason the other lawyers that I’ve talked to, told me why they did not want to take on a medical malpractice case in Texas. Don’t hate the lawyers, the Texas tort reform laws are intended to protect, not the patient rites, but the dr’s, with the result of having a higher number of dr’s, with the consequence of having a lower ratio of dr’s with an at least an “adequate” level of medical expertise (i.e. quantity over quality). Maria and her staff have been so wonderful during the nursing home lawsuit for my mom. Because of her knowledge on the many aspects of neglect that occur, I could rest assured that Maria was taking care of things while I was taking care of mom. we gave Miss Warmington $2000 to retain her. She sat on our case for 10 1/2 months without doing a thing. Six weeks prior to the statute of limitations running out she finally found an expert witness for us after many, many repeated requests from both my wife and I. This expert witness was false in e...very single thing he stated in his review to protect his colleague from being sued and we are able to prove that. We wanted to find another honest expert witness, however the statute had run out and we were unable to do so. We have all the emails from both my wife and her during that 10 1/2 months pleading with her to find an expert witness for us and she did not even respond to our emails. We should have dismissed or after that I know, but we trusted her and did not think the outcome would be like this because we had such a strong case. I would steer clear of miss Warmington if I were you. As I said we have all the emails to prove this and there is much, much more to the story, however we will just leave it like this.
