Embarrassingly and utterly incompetent; if you have a semi-serious criminal case, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
Before reading this review, please understand that I genuinely and sincerely do NOT hold any grudges toward Mr. Gee nor am I the least bit spiteful for the results of my case. The final result of the case does not bother me to this day and never did bother me - his poor handling of the case is what b...others me, and I feel it is my duty as a citizen to inform other potential clients how he performed. My review is an honest, objective assessment of his performance and handling of my case:
To be frank, it's befuddling as to how Mr. Gee makes a career as an attorney. He "handled" a serious case for me and, after thousands and thousands of dollars were paid, he ended up getting me the EXACT same plea that any defendant gets for the particular offense I had been charged with. Any public defender - anyone even representing themselves - could have accomplished what he did - nothing.
A good attorney should be articulate and a quick-thinker, and Lawrence Gee seems to exhibit the complete opposite. It takes him remarkably long to come up with simple sentences when in the process of thinking. And then, at the end of the sentence, you realize that what he just said was either already blatantly obvious or relatively immaterial.
Another aspect of his incompetence is his astonishing lack of perception. Again, most halfway decent attorneys should be able to perceive situations and people skillfully, yet he's inept at this. He could speak with you for an hour and not be able to discern your level of intellect, education, street-smarts, etc. He cannot read people at all. Period. And this is something any good attorneys should be able to do effortlessly.
As a result of these characteristics, my case was poorly handled and I ended up receiving what any average Joe with a public defender receives with this particular offense - the only difference is that I paid thousands and thousands of dollars for, obviously, nothing. Throughout the case, after explaining all of this to the personal friend of his who recommended him to me, he/she advised me to find another attorney. However, by that time, it was too late.
