As the Personal Representative of an Estate in Arizona, I retained the law firm of Breen, Olson & Trenton, LLP to probate the Will and guide me in all Estate matters. Todd Jarvis, an employee of that law firm, was assigned to provide all of the legal services in this regard. I reside in New York State and I dealt with Mr. Jarvis on many occasions by phone, fax and e-mail over a period of more than two years. There were a number of complicated matters involved in this probate proceeding, including intricate tax matters. Mr. Jarvis handled all matters related to the estate in a professional manner and was always accessible and promptly responsive to my numerous questions. He also recommended an accounting firm that I retained to deal with the many tax issues. He acted as a liason between myself and the accounting firm I retained to work on the estate. He made my work easier and brought the finalization of the estate matters to a successful conclusion. He is well spoken and highly intelligent and was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend him.
Not all entities are created equal. Most business ventures can benefit greatly from a strategic plan that starts with choosing the correct entity type, agreements to detail participants roles, and ongoing governance to protect and secure growth.
IP portfolio management.
Strategic planning for managing and protecting intellectual property assets, internet space and law, trademark and trade secrets.
Everybody has a different life story and that story leads to unique needs in protecting what they have generated over time. Careful strategic planning can lead to a successful life and security.
When disputes arise, stress increases and help is needed to make sure that your interests are protected. I take pride in helping others realize their needs and interests and help them to protect the same. Commercial, personal injury, intellectual properties, are some of the areas of disputes that I can help you with.
I am a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, and I have been practicing in Tucson ever since. Before law school I attended Brigham Young University and studied Bioinformatics. While in law school I also earned a MS in Genetics from the University of Arizona. With my legal training, diverse technical background, and 10 years of experience in the software and hardware industry, I offer business client's a unique understanding of technology and the life sciences.
I handle matters in the following areas: Intellectual properties (patent, trade mark, copyright, and trade secrets); business strategy and formation; commercial real estate; commercial litigation, bankruptcy; and estate planning.
When I'm outside of the office, my wife and I take an active role in the community. For example: we help run a local nonprofit youth athletics program together with a few of our friends and neighbors

A rare, satisfying experience with an attorney...
I will be brief by saying that Mr. Jarvis immediately understood what I was asking him to do and the nature of what had to be done. With very little direction from me he did all the right things including skillfully playing a winning chess game with our opponent's attorney. I might add that he also did that with careful concern for what his time would cost me. He is not just technically good, he is intellectually good.

Dispute Settlement
We were the complainants in a dispute settlement case involving damages to our home by an incompetent contractor. Our case was well documented, witnessed and supported by state and county entities. We enlisted Mr. Jarvis to negotiate a reasonable and fair sum to repair the damages. Although we provided Mr. Jarvis with a detailed and complete list of repairs & expenses, he excluded a significant dollar amount from the negotiations without informing us in advance. He also failed to reveal to us, in a timely fashion, a key condition of the case that compromised and negatively impacted our negotiating position, causing us to have to accept a much lesser settlement than we deserved. It became apparent, albeit too late to correct the above errors, that Mr. Jarvis was no match for the seasoned and professional council of the opposing party. At this point it was our decision to retain a second, more experienced attorney to oversee, review and significantly revise the final and biased settlement agreement that was prepared by the opposing party and simply passed through to us by Mr. Jarvis. For our case, Mr. Jarvis couldn't have been more ineffective.

"I've worked with Todd on various matters and have known him for years. He is a fantastic lawyer and a person of integrity. I wouldn't hesitate to refer my own friends and family to him."

"I've known Todd since law school and out of the 120+ students that graduated in our class, I recommended only him to replace me when I left the firm and joined the JAG Corps.
I did this because I cared about the firm's reputation and I've always known Todd to take the time to better understand the needs of others, and especially his clients. Todd works hard, is efficient, and thinks outside the box. These are the traits you need in an attorney."

"Although new to Avvo it is immediately obvious that Mr. Jarvis brings both experience and insight to his answers. His answers are not only accurate and analytic but also customized to the needs of the Avvo askers. These are exactly the qualities that every client would look for when hiring an attorney."

"I have worked with Todd over the past year since joining Breen Olson & Trenton. I do not know too many lawyers (or anyone for that matter) that studied Bioinformatics as an undergraduate, has a master's degree in Genetics, and has ten years experience in the software and hardware industry. Todd is able to offer our clients an incredibly diverse educational and work background to meet their business and intellectual property needs. He is a quick study and is a great asset to our firm."
