I hired Mr. Skiba to handle my bankruptcy because he advertises that he fight fair debt collection violations. Sadly, that is not true.
Mr. Skiba failed to disclose his relationship with my biggest debt collector that was trying to foreclose on my home. That debt collector used invalid documents in the lawsuit which Mr. Skiba failed to promptly disclose to me. Mr. Skiba refused to file lawsuits for the violation of debt collection laws and the violation of a baseless Lis Pendens (lien) on my home. Mr. Skiba handled the basics of the bankruptcy and that was completed.
However, I feel scammed by Mr. Skiba's lack of total honesty and his failure to take responsibility of his questionable actions.

Bankruptcy laws are complex and difficult to understand. The bankruptcy process is intimidating to navigate without legal help. I'm thankful I received legal consultation and
Kymber was the first person I contacted at this office. She answered some of my questions about bankruptcy then scheduled an immediate appointment for me to meet with John. Throughout the bankruptcy process, Kymber promptly returned my calls and emails. She was very thorough when going through my stacks of documents prior to filing the bankruptcy petition. If required documents were missing, she immediately contacted me via email to request them. Kymber was a tremendous help.
I met with John during the initial consultation and prior to filing the bankruptcy petition. He patiently explained the bankruptcy process and laws to me, reviewed my petition and schedules
with me before filing them, and addressed all of my concerns. The decision to file bankruptcy wasn't easy one. John treated me with compassion and dignity during a very challenging time in
my life. I was truly grateful for his help.
I spoke to Jesse prior to the 341 meeting. Of course, I was anxious because I didn't know what to expect. I'm thankful that Jesse counseled me beforehand. He addressed my concerns which helped to alleviate my anxiety. He attended the meeting with me then discussed the next steps in the bankruptcy process afterwards. I greatly appreciated his help as well.
Overall, I received outstanding service from Kymber, John, and Jesse. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone in AZ considering bankruptcy or requiring legal representation due to a creditor lawsuit. My bankruptcy case was discharged and I can breathe a little easier now.
Thank you all so very much for your assistance!

John Skiba truly is the Consumer Warrior. I was hit with a junk debt buyer lawsuit. There were several things wrong with what the debt buyer was doing but I wasn't sure if anything could be done about it but settle for the thousands they wanted. Their numbers were wrong, their documents were wrong, and they were very difficult to talk to. I had heard and read about John Skiba and the work he has done for consumers in bankruptcy cases and debt collection lawsuits. He knows the industry better than any other consumer attorney. His office was extremely helpful and responsive. They took care of everything and aggressively defended each attempt by the debt buyer's attorneys until the case was dismissed in my favor. Thank you, John!

John Skiba helped my husband and I at one of the hardest times in our lives. He made sure things went as smooth as possible and we were able to recover quickly financially from the spot we were in. I would recommend him to anyone needing bankruptcy assistance.

A number of years ago I found myself on an impossibly complex real estate litigation that required some very thoughtful post judgment legal strategy and planning. John Skiba was referred to me, and it turns out he was exactly the right person for this effort, at exactly the right time. Fast forward half a dozen years and the angst and expense of those dark times is a distant memory. John's steady hand and strategic thinking turned a lemons situation into lemonade. I hope to never need his services again, but should that ever be the case; he's my goto.

Attorney Skiba and his staff are great people to work with! The process was explained so I could understand what would be going on and kept in touch as to what was going on with the case. I would highly recommend Attorney Skiba for any consumer needs! I would definitely go back in the event I needed to! Thanks so much for all of your help!

I feel Attorney John Skiba does knows a lot about the Bankruptcy/ debt collection laws however I did not have a good experience with him as an attorney. I understand you cannot control what a judge decides to do but I went with his recommendation by not showing up at a hearing when I told him I was willing and lost the case. One of the reasons cited by the judge was because I was not present and it showed the court that I did not care. After, all I got from Mr. Skiba was the decision could be appealed but it was not in the scope of our agreement and would be expensive. I never received any additional information from him on what I needed to do. However, I did receive a letter from him that told me what he could do for me at an additional cost. I had difficulty reaching him to find out if I needed to contact the company or wait for a demand from them. I scheduled a telephonic appointment so I could ask him and he missed it. I received an email stating he would call me in the morning but never receive a call. I had to email him days later to ask when I would get a call back from him. I never received a response or call from him. I did receive a letter from him stating my case was closed out and ended it by asking for referrals. I would not recommend Attorney John Skiba to my family or friends. He seems like a nice guy but good luck if you choose to go with him.

My experience with Skiba Law was very disappointing. I went to John because I was having problems with fraudulent debt collectors, and I was initially impressed. After our consultation, things took a turn for the worse. John stated that I would receive the representation agreement via email shortly, and he would begin work on my case that week. I didn't receive the agreement until I placed a few calls to his office days later and left messages with his receptionist. These messages went unanswered until I pressed the receptionist for an answer around one week after my first call inquiring about the status of the agreement. These communication issues continued throughout our relationship. I can honestly say that I do not believe John responded to any of my emails or phone calls the first time. John also gave me two different estimated completion dates for the drafting of my complaint both of which he subsequently missed. On the second occasion he said that the complaint should be finished that day for my review...it wasn't. Durning our consultation, I expressed my desire to file my complaint relatively quickly. John acknowledged this, but failed to deliver. Lastly, John also failed to respond to multiple questions that I posed. In his defense, John did withdraw as my attorney when it became clear that his procrastination had destroyed my trust in him and his firm and he apologized for the communication issues. I would not recommend Skiba law to anyone.

I received a call from a Collection Agency from an apartment that I lived in 5 years ago. I did not want to settle with the collection agency on a debt that I didn't feel occurred. Though, I could have settled for possible less than attorney fees, I hired John off the principle of the situation. Not only did John win the Judgment, but also had their Attorney pay for my costs. I would recommend the professionalism of Skiba Law group to everyone!
