I hired Mr. Skiba to handle my bankruptcy because he advertises that he fight fair debt collection violations. Sadly, that is not true.
Mr. Skiba failed to disclose his relationship with my biggest debt collector that was trying to foreclose on my home. That debt collector used invalid documents in the lawsuit which Mr. Skiba failed to promptly disclose to me. Mr. Skiba refused to file lawsuits for the violation of debt collection laws and the violation of a baseless Lis Pendens (lien) on my home. Mr. Skiba handled the basics of the bankruptcy and that was completed.
However, I feel scammed by Mr. Skiba's lack of total honesty and his failure to take responsibility of his questionable actions.

Bankruptcy laws are complex and difficult to understand. The bankruptcy process is intimidating to navigate without legal help. I'm thankful I received legal consultation and
Kymber was the first person I contacted at this office. She answered some of my questions about bankruptcy then scheduled an immediate appointment for me to meet with John. Throughout the bankruptcy process, Kymber promptly returned my calls and emails. She was very thorough when going through my stacks of documents prior to filing the bankruptcy petition. If required documents were missing, she immediately contacted me via email to request them. Kymber was a tremendous help.
I met with John during the initial consultation and prior to filing the bankruptcy petition. He patiently explained the bankruptcy process and laws to me, reviewed my petition and schedules
with me before filing them, and addressed all of my concerns. The decision to file bankruptcy wasn't easy one. John treated me with compassion and dignity during a very challenging time in
my life. I was truly grateful for his help.
I spoke to Jesse prior to the 341 meeting. Of course, I was anxious because I didn't know what to expect. I'm thankful that Jesse counseled me beforehand. He addressed my concerns which helped to alleviate my anxiety. He attended the meeting with me then discussed the next steps in the bankruptcy process afterwards. I greatly appreciated his help as well.
Overall, I received outstanding service from Kymber, John, and Jesse. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone in AZ considering bankruptcy or requiring legal representation due to a creditor lawsuit. My bankruptcy case was discharged and I can breathe a little easier now.
Thank you all so very much for your assistance!

John Skiba truly is the Consumer Warrior. I was hit with a junk debt buyer lawsuit. There were several things wrong with what the debt buyer was doing but I wasn't sure if anything could be done about it but settle for the thousands they wanted. Their numbers were wrong, their documents were wrong, and they were very difficult to talk to. I had heard and read about John Skiba and the work he has done for consumers in bankruptcy cases and debt collection lawsuits. He knows the industry better than any other consumer attorney. His office was extremely helpful and responsive. They took care of everything and aggressively defended each attempt by the debt buyer's attorneys until the case was dismissed in my favor. Thank you, John!

I have known John and have watched his good work for consumers in Arizona for a number of years now. Especially dealing with debt collectors or debt buyers like Midland Funding. He gives away a ton of great information that you should look at. Not everyone who is dealing with debt or a debt collector needs a lawyer but everyone needs good solid information. He'll give you very solid information. And then you'll need to act on that information. If you need a lawyer in Arizona, I highly recommend John Skiba. He'll shoot straight with you and guide you through the process. John Watts
