Caleb Lihn is a founder/partner of Taylor & Lihn, PLLC, practicing in the areas of elder law, special needs planning, estate planning, and probate litigation. After obtaining his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, with a major in psychology, Caleb attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. At McGeorge, Caleb was selected to write for and edit the school's international law journal, The Transnational Lawyer. Upon graduating from McGeorge, Caleb returned to Arizona and became a successful litigation attorney at two major civil defense law firms in Phoenix. After honing litigation and dispute resolution skills, Caleb joined a small minority of lawyers who continued their legal education and obtained an LL.M. degree, with an emphasis in estate planning and elder law.
Caleb's emphasis in special needs planning began when his youngest daughter was diagnosed, in utero, with a rare and serious heart defect, necessitating three open heart surgeries within her first three years of life. On the other end of the spectrum, Caleb previously had a close family member diagnosed with an illness requiring long-term care planning, thus triggering an interest and passion in elder law. While navigating his family through the complex worlds of special needs planning and elder law, a passion to assist other individuals and families was born.
Caleb is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys ("NAELA") and Elder Counsel. Caleb also sits on the NAELA Guardianship Steering Committee and the Special Needs Law Steering Committee. Caleb was recently named a 2015 Rising Star by Super Lawyers in the area of Elder Law. Caleb is also a Judge Pro Tem for Maricopa County Superior Court. Caleb has also earned Martindale Hubbell's highest peer review rating, AV Preeminent, for legal ability and ethics.
