Barbara Richmond Berman

Barbara Richmond Berman has lived in Phoenix for over thirty years. Barbara is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics summa cum laude in 1972 from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and her law degree cum laude in 1975 from Harvard Law School.

Before moving to Phoenix in 1979, Barbara practiced in Washington, D.C. with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Special Regulated Industries Section of the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice. After moving to Phoenix, Barbara practiced law, initially as an associate and then as a partner, with the firm of Streich, Lang, Weeks & Cardon, P.A. (now known as Quarles & Brady, P.A.), concentrating in the areas of financial regulatory law and consumer and mortgage lending. She then took a number of years off to focus on raising a family, during which time she experienced through family members many of the issues arising from life transitions. So, when Barbara chose to return to the practice of law, she decided to focus her practice on providing assistance to clients navigating these transitions.

After extensive preparation and training, Barbara opened her law office for the purpose of providing compassionate, efficient and economical legal services to our community. After six years as a solo practitioner, Barbara joined the firm of Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold LLP to work in the areas of estate controversy litigation and estate planning.
