Brian helped me through a scary time, and refunded me money when my case was dismissed.

Over the summer, I was out with some friends celebrating and had a few drinks. As soon as the night ended, we were all trying to decide who should drive. I had the least amount of drinks and decided that I would take everyone home. Little did I know that this would be the start to the worst time in m...y life. I made a wide turn and was pulled over by an officer. When he came to the window of my car, he asked, "have you had anything to drink?" I was terrified and answered all of his questions. I later learned that I did not even have to answer all of his questions. I was then taken in for a dui. My car was towed and I was beyond terrified. I have never been in trouble before and I felt completely lost. The next day- I immediately started researching attorneys. There were so many and it was overwhelming. I called The Law Offices of Brian Sloan and he immediately answered my call. I explained my situation and I met with him shortly thereafter. He explained the entire process to me and he even did a best and worst case scenario of how things could work out. Of course there was no guarantee on anything. I did text him a few times after the meeting and he immediately responded. DUI's are scary and he did his best at giving me more peace of mind. He shared the list of his services along with payment dates. He had a few options of ways that he could help. He contacted the courts for me and kept me updated. I feel blessed because my charges were actually dropped a few weeks later. The courts dismissed my charges for no reasonable likelihood of conviction/ no blood test evidence above the legal limit. Brian contacted me right away to share the news and he even refunded my payment. He then e-mailed me the paperwork from the courts that the charge was dropped. I made a promise to myself that I will never drink and drive. It is much cheaper to just call a cab. If you do end up learning the lesson the hard way, I would call Brian. There is so much information and it can be confusing and scary, Brian can help make the process easier.

Thank you for representing me on my DUI case. I’m very grateful for your hard work and professionalism

I first used a prepaid legal service to find a DUI Attorney and I couldn’t even get him to answer simple questions about my case until I gave him $4,000 cash up-front. Disappointed, I did my research online to find the best DUI Attorney available. Mr. Sloan’s websites and credentials as a specialis...t in DUI cases were very impressive and his fees were reasonable. Mr. Sloan thoroughly explained the process, my DUI charges, all my options and was up-front and honest in addressing all my concerns. He was diligent in keeping me informed of the status of my case; I called him several times - and he answered his own phone. Mr. Sloan walks the walk and owns up to everything his website says he is – and more. His in-depth knowledge of DUI Law resulted in my DUI case being dismissed in full. I’ve been there – and very thankful Mr. Sloan was there with me. I highly recommend Attorney Brian Sloan to anyone wanting the absolute best DUI representation for your money invested.

A desperate situation

I was involved in a car accident and much to my dismay the State waited a year after the accident to charge me with 4 Felonies and 1 misdemeanor. I was served by the grand jury and arrested from my home without warning. My bond was 50 thousand dollars and I was assigned Brian Sloan as my Public defen...der. Long story short He left the Public defender's dept and went into his own practice. During my time out on the bond which was posted. The State decided to refile my charges which meant I was arrested again and required a new bond of the 50 thousand dollars. I didn't have that type of money or means, nor did my family. I needed to hire a lawyer that was trustworthy and aware of my circumstance. I thought why not stay with Mr. Sloan since he was already familiar. So my family and myself did. He was able to get my bond reduced by filing a motion and unbelievable. My bond was lowered to $2500.00. His professional way with words and his character are beyond belief. He has been working on my case now for over a year and we are ready to take this to trial. I ask that God be in charge of my case and find this to be an accident exactly what it is. Thus far, I have been given a great defense Lawyer Brian Sloan and another Lawyer also both working together to see that the truth be told. I have faith in his ability to provide me with a proper defense. If you ever find yourself in a situation such as mine and don't know what to do or where to turn. Please give him a call. I can give you my word he will help you to the best of his ability or he will direct you to the proper place for your circumstance. Thank you for allowing me to share with this website AVVO. I hope this will help those of you who are in need and don't know which dircection to turn.

Waste of Money

Arizona DUI penalties are the same for everyone on the first offense. Brian should have been upfront at our initial consultation and told me that there was nothing he could do for me. Instead, he gave me the impression that he could negotiate a better deal than I would get on my own or with a public ...defender. He took my money, and I ended up with the same results that I would have had without his "help." He did not stand by me at my sentencing. Instead, he sent a very young and inexperienced associate who really just phoned it in. I didn't even get out of jail early, which he highlighted as an advantage of his service. Hiring Brian just ended up being another costly mistake.

Unfortunately, I think an unscrupulous lawyer wrote this against me, as I have recently been exposing certain other lawyers as snakes, incompetent, and scam artists. The author didn’t leave a name, so I can’t respond with specifics. If, however, this was a real client, I can respond with general statements. This person is incorrect, and it is not the same penalties for everyone on the first offense. Penalties can change severely depending on the facts of the case, the courtroom, the prosecutor handling the case, and the experience of the Defense Lawyer. Simply look at the previous Testimonial for a great example. I am very up front in my initial consultation. I provide potential clients with the actual sentencing range, let them know my thoughts on possible outcomes, and I really do everything I can to be honest and a straight-shooter. I always tell people about the option to represent themselves, and the option to go with a Public Defender. When hiring a Private Defense Lawyer, there is no guarantee of success. It is stated in every Private Lawyer’s contract. People hire me because of my experience, and to see things that other Public Defenders, clients, and attorneys might miss. Again, see the previous Testimonial. Hiring me doesn’t guarantee a specific outcome. It is not uncommon for me to have to have an associate represent my client at Sentencing after a plea agreement is entered into. I have already done all the work, and everything is already set in stone by the time Sentencing comes around. I am only one person, and can’t be at every court at the same time. Sometimes I need help, which is true of all Private DUI and Criminal Defense Lawyers. However, the associates I send in are not inexperienced. I have worked with my associates for years, and I trust my associates to properly and fully represent my clients, and follow my instructions. It is true that I will often tell potential clients that I have a trick to get out of jail early, however, it is a trick, not a guarantee. It tends to work 99% of the time, but every now and again, it doesn’t work. I make it clear in my Case Review that this is a trick, that will hopefully work, and tends to work, but there is no guarantee, as it is up to the jail to decide what to do with a person. The other day I had a client tell me the trick didn’t work. This morning I had a client tell me that my trick worked so well that they were able to serve a 2 day sentence in 12 hours. If this was truly a former client, I am sorry that you think this was a costly mistake. I am hired for my knowledge and experience, and solely focusing on DUI Defense Representation. I am hired for all the time and work I put into my client’s cases, not just for the end result, because the end result cannot be guaranteed. I am hired so that my clients have direct access to me by phone; and for my 5 to 10 page Case Review that I send my client, so they can take their time to review everything, and make a fully informed decision on how they want to proceed. I am hired to take care of the Motor Vehicle Division issues, and take care of the court appearances so that my client can keep working, and not waste their time sitting around in a court. I am sorry that this person felt the need to harm my reputation. What I offer my clients is excellent representation at an affordable price, but hiring a Private Lawyer is not a guarantee of anything, and it definitely does not mean that the case will be dismissed. My results, and other Testimonials, speak for themselves.

Save your money!

I hired Brian for a first offense DUI and was basically promised that by hiring him, he’d be able to get my charge plead down. WRONG! I was charged and convicted of a DUI. Save your money and take the court appointed attorney.

I’m sorry this ‘anonymous’ person did not like the outcome of their case. However, I don’t lie to my clients or potential clients, and I NEVER promise an outcome on a case. I am a ‘straight shooter’ when I talk to people, whether they are potential or actual clients. I even have a sentence in my Legal Fee Agreement that every client has to initial that specifically states, “Client understands that a criminal case, by its very nature, is unpredictable and that Attorney makes no guarantees or representations with respect to the outcome, or final disposition of this matter.” What I do try to do during my Initial Consultation is let the potential client know my thoughts on their case, based on the information they provide me, case law on the subject, and my experience dealing with similar cases. However, that opinion can change if what the person initially told me is completely different than what is stated in the police report. People hire me because of my experience in DUI Defense. However, I am not the only party to the case. The police report and blood/breath test results are a big factor, and the prosecutor is the one that offers a plea agreement. I do not control the facts of the case or the prosecutor. People hire me to find legal or factual issues that other attorneys might not spot because of a lack of experience. I have plenty of those stories listed on my website. Now, what I’m sure that I DID do for this ‘anonymous’ client, was that I handled numerous court dates without them having to be present, so that they could focus on their work or school. I imagine I handled the MVD, to allow them to continue to drive upwards of a few more months. I imagine I handled the MVD correctly, so as to prevent them from having to have 3 years of SR22 high risk insurance. I would have emailed them a 5- to 10-page Case Review letting them know all my thoughts on their case, so that they could make a fully informed decision on how they should proceed. I very likely informed them that I did not think that it was worthwhile to continue fighting the case, and pay me thousands of dollars more, when I thought that it would be a waste of time and a waste of money. And I likely walked them through their Change of Plea and Sentencing, and answered any questions that they had. I may have also got them credit towards jail time, and/or possibly set them up so that they didn’t have to serve their entire sentence in full by utilizing my trick that often works. That depends on what judge they were in front of. These are all things that a Public Defender would not have done in the representation of a client. Something else that I provide to all my clients is direct access to me through calling, texting or emailing me with any questions that my clients have. This is not something that public defenders offer, and it is rare for even other private attorneys to offer this level of access. An attorney should not be rated on the final outcome of a case, as the attorney is often not the one in control of that final outcome. I am one of the few attorneys that solely focuses on DUI Defense Representation, at this point having successfully defended nearly 3,000 DUI cases. I believe I’m one of the most award-winning attorneys in the state, and I recently received an award that only about five people in the state have received for DUI Defense. I don’t lie to clients or potential clients, and I don’t promise anything concerning the final outcome of the case. Unlike many other defense lawyers, I don’t give people false hope just so people will sign up with me. Those who do their research find me, and realize that I am the best value in the state, based on my experience and what I charge. I don’t need to lie to people, nor do I have any interest in lying to people, to get them to sign up with me. I offer an excellent service at very reasonable rates, and people who do their research tend to find me.
