Incredibly grateful

From the moment my husband and I stepped into Isabel's office to consult with her we felt welcomed and at ease. Never once did I feel like we were just another client, she was a very genuine individual. I was naturally a little nervous in selecting a lawyer for our case but we quickly knew Isabel was... the right choice. She was extremely kind, empathetic towards our case and professional. She always answered my many questions quickly. We had a complicated case and I couldn't be happier that we chose her to represent us. When it came time to submit our case for review I was blown away by the amount of time, detail and refinement she put into the final case package she compiled on our behalf. Even though the entire process was a long one due to the type of waiver we were filling for, she always kept in touch and her emails/ correspondences were always reassuring. In the end all of her efforts took so much worry from me. I would recommend anyone to her!!! I am forever grateful for her and her representation.

Outstanding

Ms. Cueva is a consummate professional who is very experienced in immigration. She was able to direct us flawlessly through our immigration procedure. She provided an honest and direct assessment of our case. What impressed me most was how disarming and welcoming this law office is, they are f...ocused on client education and are willing to navigate immigration with you step by step. The office also provides services in Spanish, it is impressive how flawlessly Ms. Cueva can go from one language to another. It is clear that when you hire Ms. Cueva you hire an advocate as well as a lawyer and this is a bargain. Immigration can be a confusing and frustrating process, unless you have Isabel, then it is a breeze. I would recommend her to anyone going through the process, she is peace of mind, and you can't put a price on that!

Had high hopes....

We signed on with Ms. Cueva at Highbee & Associates to handle our same sex marriage based greencard. I am a US citizen and my husband is Mexican. Everything started off pretty well, we were kept informed and information was flowing between us and her team. Halfway through our case Isabel Cueva left ...the firm along with her team leaving us and I'm sure a lot of other clients uncertain. It was only her firm that gave a letter explaining that she had left and so had two other women Jacqueline Shi and Irene Nunez who were handling our case. We were told this was going to be pretty basic and easy. I guess they were too anxious to get to their next job or open their firm or whatever the case may be but instead of receiving good news this last Friday we were informed that in the handling of the paperwork being passed from attorney to attorney to paralegal etc. A fundamental mistake had been made on our I-601A form from the previous team that had supposedly checked everything thoroughly. Our petition was denied, not because of us but because of a mistake they had made in the paperwork. I just see it as a very irresponsible move leave a firm and not communicate to your clients of make sure that everything is in place, we are very stressed and this has not been a great experience to say the least. The whole reason of hiring lawyers is to avoid these types of headaches and let's just say that I couldn't saved myself $4,000+ if I had gone a different route.

Dear James, When I left my previous firm this was one of my greatest fears, that my past clients would not be well represented in my absence. When I found out I was leaving the firm, I did everything in my power to make sure of a smooth transition. Even though time did not permit me to call every one of my clients to personally let them know I was leaving, I did go through each and every case to make sure I left everything in good standing. I was the supervising attorney assigned to your case, and Ms. Shi was the attorney assigned to work on your actual case. I did review your file before I left and everything looked as it should. I was not aware that Ms. Shi would also leave the firm shortly after I did. From what I understand, your cases was left with Ms. Hernandez. What I can tell you is that a denial of an I-601A is not given because of a mere mistake on the forms, but rather, because there was not enough evidence submitted to demonstrate the U.S. citizen spouse would suffer extreme hardship. An approval is strongly tied to the supporting documents submitted: a well written psychological evaluation, medical documents, a well written statement from both the U.S. citizen spouse and the intending immigrant, letters of support, financial statements, etc. I hope you understand it is easy for a firm or attorney to place blame on someone who is no longer there who cannot defend themselves. I am very passionate about doing a stand-up job for all of my clients. Although I did not want to leave my clients in the middle of their case, unfortunately, I had no choice in the matter. If your attorney relationship has ended with H&A, I invite you to email me personally and I would be happy to review the denial letter and see how I can help. Again, I am truly sorry about the outcome of your case, and how your case was handled after I left the firm.

Thank You! Isabel Cueva

After being hustled by a sponger "lawyer," I have always been wary of them which caused my situation go on longer than it should have. My husband sure did his homework because the moment we walked out of our consultation, I knew Isabel Cueva was different. Through the whole DACA process, she kept m...e informed, answered any doubts (I had many!) or questions I had and she was willing to just listen. Her knowledge is incredible and I am sure we only witnessed a sliver of it. Isabel is caring, warm and always has a positive attitude. We have already recommended her to others and plan on returning for any immigration issues in the future. Thank You so much, Isabel! You have drastically changed my life; besides the fees (which were considerably reasonable), there is no price on that :-) Thank You!!

Wonderful Immigration Attorney

Maria is an awesome attorney. she is very down to earth. Right off the bat i knew i could trust her. Her personality charisma and knowledge made me want to ask and seek her advice on the very delicate system of immigration. After working with Maria, I was able to see her passion for the law and for e...ach one of her clients. She really cares. I am very happy with the results she’s giving me and my family. I recommended her to my parents and thanks to her spanish language they were able to communicate in a smoothly way. Therefore I am recommending her to anybody seeking for an attorney.
