Jill L. Coil handled my divorce case from the beginning and was very professional and responsive. She cared about me and my kids and was very knowledgeable on Utah laws. She always had my best interests in mind and handled my case in a very professional manner and did not try to delay or push my case out. She kept me in the loop and explained what were the next steps and how I would like to handle it. Communication was excellent and knew exactly what was going to happen and gave me options to decide on which direction to take as well as giving her expert advice. She was great in responding to apposing counsel and not allowing the opposing counsel to bully or take advantage of me. She was always available when I needed to talk with her. Not only was she my lawyer but became a good friend as well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and especially to those good Fathers needing someone to go fight for them and their kids.

My divorce proceedings began in the summer of 2013. I knew this was going to be a difficult divorce. My now ex- was a stay at home mom and therefore would get the kids automatically. Knowing that this would be disastrous for my children, I had every intention of fighting for primary custody. I knew that despite my ex's personal issues, I had my work cut out for me.
I initially retained a different attorney and was completely dissatisfied in every way with him. He was unresponsive to my emails and phone calls, came to court completely unprepared, and encouraged me to not fight for my kids. He was happy however, to over bill me. To say I was frustrated with him would be an understatement.
After deciding to retain a different attorney, I was introduced to Jill Coil. I left my initial consultation excited and committed to retaining her. Here are a few of my reasons:
1. She was genuinely concerned with my situation and was willing to work with me to get as close as possible to my desired outcome.
2. She has a PhD
3. She spent time working with a "Father's Right's" firm. Overall, I found her resume very impressive.
4. Rates were reasonable
Over time, I attended several hearings with Jill representing me. She ALWAYS came well prepared to argue my case and ready to quote statutes, case law, and anything else that would support our case. With her help, I was able to secure custody of my children.
My first attorney, who I eventually fired, has been in the business for many many years. By comparison Jill, is young in the business. Don't let that concern you in any way. She is intelligent, straight forward, and perseverant.
5 Stars is not a high enough rating in my opinion. I only wish that I had started my divorce proceedings with Jill.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
I worked with Jill on a number of cases. She is knowledgeable, experienced, and has a strong rapport with judges and commissioners which make her a valuable source for anyone contemplating divorce or having custody issues. I consider her a mentor and friend and look forward to working with her in the future.
