Marc R Carlson

About me

You deserve to receive the estate plan you want and to understand the plan you choose. My goal and mission is to help you understand your options and choices so that you can create an effective estate plan concerning what happens to you and your family if you become incapacitated or pass away. You can choose now to design and implement the best plan to achieve your vision, help your family, reduce or eliminate your concerns, and give yourself the peace of mind you are seeking.

I have been an attorney for 43 years after my service as a high school teacher and coach. As a teacher, I learned the importance of being an effective and understandable communicator, an active listener, and a compassionate advisor and counselor.

My practice has included wills, trusts and estate planning for 19 years. I continue to practice law solely in the estate planning arena because I enjoy helping people with the important areas of lifetime disability planning and estate planning (wills and trusts).

7 Benefits for You:

1.  Receive advice and counseling in a friendly and professional manner;

2.  Learn what you need to know about wills and trusts and what happens to your family if you're incapacitated or when you pass away;

3.  Learn about a planning process to help you identify your important goals and the legacy you most want to leave behind;

4.  Receive intelligent, strategic, creative and practical options and choices to empower you to make informed decisions about leaving your legacy;

5.  Design a customized and comprehensive estate plan with solutions to meet the needs of you and your family;

6.  Implement the best plan to achieve your goals; and

7.  Reduce your concerns and help give yourself the peace of mind you're seeking by completing your planning for the future.

Together we will focus on your goals, circumstances and needs. I promise to be friendly and pleasant to work with in an informal and comfortable atmosphere, listen well, communicate in an understandable way, use state-of-the art legal strategies, and help empower you to create the best estate plan to meet the needs of you and your family.

My wonderful wife, Donna, and I have been married for 45 years. We have a great son and daughter, six precious grandchildren, and two super Shelties. We have lived in Longmont, Colorado since 1972.

My hobbies and activities include spending time with family, golf, reading, movies, travel, the theater, and teaching adult Sunday School classes at church.

I am a contributing author for the new book called, "Bloopers Episodes in Estate Planning and Elder Law: Lessons from Prime Time TV" (Colorado Edition) (January 2015). In order to keep current in the practice of estate planning law, I'm a member of WealthCounsel, a national group of estate planning attorneys. I am honored to have achieved an "AV Preeminent" peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the "highest possible legal rating in both legal ability and ethical standards." I was listed in the "2014-2016 Denver Top Lawyers" in The Denver Post. rates me a "Superb" 10 out of 10.

    I worked with Marc on a case in which we each were representing a trust, negotiating a real estate agreement between the trusts. Marc was diligent and professional to work with and I was impressed with his thoughtfulness and attention to detail in drafting the agreement.
